Manufacturing Design Engineer

Job Responsibility

• Responsible for leading the development and implementation of advanced battery manufacturing processes across Gotion’s global gigafactories
• Work closely with Gotion’s cell design, product design, and manufacturing teams and our worldwide suppliers
• Collaborate with equipment and process engineers to create world class cell manufacturing process and process capabilities
• Plan and execute studies to confirm process capability to achieve technical goals for high volume programs
• Develop and document processes including all parameters, consumables and secondary operation requirements to meet defined specifications
• Conduct process optimization DOE’s, using data-driven and hands-on approaches to find solutions to complex challenges

Key Qualification

• Min 3 years experience in Operations Engineering or Manufacturing Process Development
• Direct experience in manufacturing process design, review, and buy off
• Experience with tooling design (jigs, fixtures, tool and die) in a high volume manufacturing environment
• Direct experience in battery production process, equipment, and manufacturing planning is highly valued
• Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance (GD&T), Design of Experiments, and Statistical Process Control (SPC) is a plus
