Manufacturing Engineer - Stryker Limerick
(23-month FTC)
Position Summary:
Provides engineering support to a manufacturing process, project, or function. Evaluates manufacturing outcomes and implements continuous improvements and cost efficiencies. Supports NPI and new equipment/process introductions. This is an individual contributor role that requires the use of judgement in applying professional expertise and is expected to work independently with minimal supervision.
What you will do:
• Focus on KPIs such as scrap, machine performance (OEE), process improvements and long-term asset replacement or aged assets.
• Development and progression of capital expenditure from benchmarking, quotation, capital approval, FAT, machine qualification and operations introduction.
• Development and implementation of appropriate supporting documentation, SOPs and process work instructions compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Process validation for products and processes; VP, IQ, OQ, PQ and associated documentation.
• Leading technical improvements under the business's Continuous Improvement Program (CIP).
• Provision of technical leadership/guidance for the Process / maintenance Technicians and other Manufacturing / Equipment Engineers on the team.
• Carry out structured problem solving.
• Responsibility for projects (value stream and cross functional) as assigned by the company, including the scoping, approval, budgeting, specification, execution, qualification and operational handover as appropriate.
• Actively interfacing with cross-functional team members and 3rd party Vendors, and always practicing good team work in support of the day to day operating requirements, and in pursuit of achieving the business targets
• Continuous monitoring and reporting of variables that feed into the business performance metrics, and pro-active identification and resolution of issues around any deficits in same.
• Willingness and flexibility to work required shift patterns to support the business needs.
What you will need:
- Level 8 Honours Degree in an Engineering discipline.
- Has experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Capable of working as part of a multi-disciplined team in an aggressive, dynamic and results motivated environment.
- Demonstrable analytical & problem-solving skills, a process improvement orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment.
- Demonstrable ability to work autonomously. A team player, with a flexible approach.
