Manufacturing Process Engineer

Vicarious Surgical is hiring a Manufacturing Process Engineer to join our team in Waltham, MA.  In this role, you will work to establish and maintain best practices in manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and material flow.  Additionally, you will work closely with Advanced Manufacturing during design builds to develop process documentation, test equipment, PFMEAs and work instructions for the Assembly Team.  To succeed in this role, you will need a strong sense of urgency, clear communication and the ability to work well with your hands.  This role reports directly to the Manager of Manufacturing Operations.

Responsibilities:

• Create work instructions and standard operating procedures to establish the foundation for Vicarious Surgical’s manufacturing operations.  These will include:
• Assembly/Machining
• Test and Maintenance
• Cleaning/Sterilization
• Line Clearance
• GMP
• Support lay-out/assemble new FDA/ISO 13485 compliant space; assemble benches, furniture, and various test equipment.
• Working on material flow and routing optimizations.
• De-burr, Inspect and assemble electro-mechanical components.
• Support our assembly, inspection, supply chain, shop organization and more.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• The ability to work with limited supervision and solve problems in a timely manner.
• Microsoft Office, Google Docs and other software tools are strongly valued.
• Experience with Statistical Process Controls.
• Experience with Tulip or other Manufacturing Execution Systems.
• 5S, Kaban and Lean knowledge.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

• Manufacturing, machine or inspection experience.
• Medical device experience.
• Complex electro-mechanical assembly and robotics experience.
