We have an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Quality Engineer specializing in electronic relays and electric control panels. In this role, you will be at the forefront of ensuring top-notch quality in our production lines, monitoring key performance indicators, and collaborating with various teams to solve complex manufacturing issues.

You will be responsible for generating and cascading quality alerts, supporting production engineers, and providing manufacturing solutions to prevent line stoppages. Your role will also involve training operators, developing standardized work instructions, and implementing lean manufacturing projects.

Job Description

Manufacturing Quality engineer for products: electronic relays, and electric control panels, will be responsible for:

  • Monitor Quality KPI's at the production lines or sub assembly processes (First Time Quality, Scrap, Product audits, quality costs, etc.)
  • Generate and cascade quality alerts with internal personnel and suppliers.
  • Supporting production engineers by analyzing quality and manufact. issues at the production line.
  • Daily follow up and systemic analysis and problem solving of issues that may be linked to procurement methods, assembly methods, production order launching or engineering methods or suppliers' origin issues.
  • Provide manufacturing solutions at the production lines, preventing line stoppages.
  • Establish rapid containment actions and long-term corrective actions.
  • Train and follow-up corrective actions with operators and suppliers.
  • Develop visual standardized work instructions for assembly and wiring operations.
  • Launch training program for new operators (quality alerts, best practices, etc.)
  • Improve manual assembly working methods supported by engineering team and with the support and interaction of other GE production facilities.
  • Analyze with engineering, assembly and wiring issues during functional testing.
  • Pareto analysis of main quality strikers at control panel and relay operations.
  • Supporting production engineers for implementation of lean manufacturing projects (5s, Andon, Bottleneck, Gemba, Root Cause Analysis, OEE, SMED, VSM, etc.).
  • Support maintenance of skill matrix and develop project to increase skills of all operators with quality focus.
  • Random product audits at assembly and wiring (internal and external).
  • Support central and supplier quality teams with production line issues.
  • Development mid-term self-control quality strategy.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Industrial Engineering or Degree or equivalent.
  • High level in Spanish and English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong customer focus and ability to cooperate with the different departments and systemic problems solving.
  • Team working approach, good communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of self-motivation, flexibility and self-learning aptitude.
  • Intermediate knowledge and use of quality core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plans.
  • Root Cause Analysis approach, Corrective action plans & reports.

  • Experience with use and implementation of lean manufacturing and quality tools.
  • Mid-level knowledge of office tools.
  • Self-motivated, autonomous and dedicated team player.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and achieve milestones and deliverables.
  • Analytical and with high sense of urgency.
  • High communication and organization skills to coordinate activities involving different teams.
