Marathon Lead Gameplay Engineer - AI

As a Lead Gameplay Engineer in AI at Bungie, you will collaborate with designers and engineers to drive development of the Artificial Intelligence technology that brings Marathon's simulated combatants to life. You will learn how Bungie’s AI systems work, you will work within our networked gameplay architecture, and you will help formulate our strategy for building dynamic characters that populate an evolving multiplayer living world. Most importantly, you will work with a fun, talented, and energetic team invested in creating a new, world-class gaming experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead AI technology development on Marathon
• Collaborate with design leads to develop technical solutions that meet their needs
• Work across teams to discover dependencies, plan tasks, and align on the AI team's feature roadmap
• Be an owner, decision-maker, and guide as needed for technical features in AI
• Manage engineers - providing support, technical mentorship, constructive feedback, and career development coaching

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Build and maintain production quality C++ code
• Proficiency in 3D math, data structures, algorithms, and profiling for performance
• Communicate with fellow engineers to jointly design, write, and review code as a team
• Communicate with customers from non-technical backgrounds to help them navigate technology and achieve their goals
• Lead (managing, mentoring, and guiding) engineers through planning, development, and shipping
