Marathon Software Engineer - Systems

As a Systems Engineer at Bungie, you will collaborate with designers and engineers to build frameworks and game systems that allow players to flourish in the world of Marathon. These systems will enable players to make connections and become deeply invested in their characters within an evolving multiplayer living world. Most importantly, you will work with a thoughtful, supportive, and collaborative team invested in creating a new, world-class gaming experience. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Build and maintain production quality C++ (and sometimes C#) code  
• Work independently with stakeholders to design, build, extend, and maintain networked gameplay systems as well as associated tools and workflows  
• Build trust and collaborate with other engineers to plan, craft, and review code  
• Learn, extend, and maintain content production workflows and tools 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

• Develop and extend engineering systems within scope and performance considerations  
• Take requirements and goals and transform them into technical specifications and working code 
• Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, architecture, and debugging  
• Effective communication and relationship building abilities with engineers and non-engineers alike
