The Strategic Operations (StratOps) Strategic Capabilities Unit, consists of Washington DC Operations, Marketing & Communications and Strategic Development. The StratOps team promotes and elevates the business within our markets, works with customers and competition to influence and drive the growth of Ball Aerospace and facilitates collaboration across the business enterprise to increase opportunities.
Marketing & Communications Specialist I / Marketing & Communications Specialist II - Integrated Marketing & Campaigns
Ball Aerospace is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist I to join our Marketing & Communications (MarCom) department. In this position, you will be responsible for promoting and elevating Ball Aerospace's brand within the marketplace by supporting consistent branding and messaging across all Ball Aerospace communication channels, developing marketing materials, and leading various strategic communication campaigns, external marketing projects and events. This position is based in Broomfield, CO.
What You'll Do:
  • As part of the Integrated Marketing & Campaigns Team (IMC), own and develop marketing campaigns to support the highest priority annual business goals.
  • Responsibilities include partnering with subject matters experts to conduct market and audience research, identify communications goals, develop messaging, work with the larger MarCom team to identify and execute strategies, and collect analytics across multi-year campaigns.
  • Serve as the marketing lead for various external events. Responsibilities include partnering with the Customer Engagement and Events team and subject matter experts to develop messaging, coordinate the creation of marketing materials, identify strategic marketing opportunities and collect post-event analytics.
  • Responsible for managing the Ball Aerospace sponsorship and membership portfolios. This includes tracking sponsorship and professional membership opportunities, maintaining vendor relationships, coordinating with internal stakeholders, managing the sponsorship and membership budgets and coordinating deliverables, such as ads, as needed.
  • Write award nomination packages, including working with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate tasks, scheduling and deadlines.
  • Write speaking notes and develop presentations for external speaking engagements aimed at driving increased market awareness.
  • Serve as a liaison or co-liaison to a company Strategic Capability Unit, which will include developing strategic marketing and communications support for that function.
  • Plan and staff internal and external company events.
  • Support consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels.
  • Maintain required records and reports in accordance with Ball Aerospace policies and government regulations.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

What You'll Need:
  • Marketing & Communications Specialist I - Bachelor's degree.
  • Marketing & Communications Specialist II - Bachelor's degree plus 3 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, PR, Journalism, English or related field preferred.
  • Professional experience leading marketing campaigns.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Experience working under brand guidelines.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Experience developing marketing materials, such as brochures, fliers, etc.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing and interpreting marketing data.
  • A creative eye for design and branding that carries through layout design, photography, videography, typography, etc.
  • Aptitude for approaching concrete goals with strategic thinking skills to achieve them.
  • Experience and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience working with senior level leaders, including executives
  • Ability to translate and synthesize highly technical information into strategic marketing messages.
  • Ability to work multiple projects simultaneously, under deadline pressure with fast turn arounds while demonstrating attention to detail.
  • Experience coordinating with graphic designers in software such as Adobe InDesign and Adobe Photoshop on marketing collateral.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Teams, Word and PowerPoint.
  • If not familiar with industry, ability to take initiative to understand company and learn about products, capabilities and markets.
  • Ability to quickly learn new skills, new products or technical knowledge; stay current on new trends, ideas, technologies.
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience managing large, detailed portfolios such as a company's sponsorships and memberships preferred.
  • Experience writing and developing speaking engagements and award nominations preferred.
  • Experience working with marketing analytical tools and platforms preferred.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.
  • Occasional flexibility for evening or weekend work to meet deadlines, as needed.

Relocation for this position is not available.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST I: $51,000 - $70,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
  • HIRING SALARY RANGE FOR MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST II: $63,000 - $84,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
