We are looking for a talented Marine Application Associate to join our team specializing in project assistance for our Cummins office location in Charleston, South Carolina.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Assists a project manager in applying process and project management skills within an area of business or technical specialty.
  • Supports the management of small portions of well-defined projects. Provides administrative and logistics support for a project team and project manager.
  • Serves as a support resource on projects and work assignments.
  • Assists in identifying, tracking, and working with others to resolve project issues.
  • Helps monitor and communicate project status to project team.
  • Assists with budget planning and tracking, research, and analytical support; provides administrative support for the design and development of project plans and timelines.
  • Assists with managing project risk; completes administrative work in the use of quality tools to identify areas of risk.
  • Supports documenting and sharing team learnings with other teams.
  • Maintains project notes, databases, and other records; monitors measures and communicates with Project Manager on status of specific projects and assignments.
  • Rotation 1 - Marine Customer Engineering: Learn marine power installations on various marine applications, learn propulsion systems and impacts to power installations, Understand and develop data resources to enable successful installations (datasheets, drawings, AEBs, installation guides), Support field test activities for VPC/VPI programs.
  • Rotation 2 - Design Introduction: Learn the product development process and VPI technical lanes, Understand marine unique development, Support 1-2 VPI projects with design integration team. Learn and follow the product release process and follow on assigned parts.
  • Rotations 3 - Marine Controls & HMI: Learn about different levels of control requirements in marine. Identify and manage at least 1 panel/control development project at VPC level (EBU/PSBU/DBU).

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:
  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. College or equivalent degree not required but helpful. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Project Resource Management - Develops resource (expense and headcount) plans using recommended project management tools and processes to manage resources effectively.
  • Project Issue and Risk Management - Manages the process to identify, assess and prioritize issues and risks using recommended tools and processes to minimize, monitor, and control the probability and/or impact of negative events or to maximize the realization of positive events.

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
