Marine Electrician Lead

PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation. Positon Summary: Perform and may lead crew engaged in electrical work in and around ship repair industry. Troubleshoot, repair, improve and build electrical components of ships. Essential Duties and Responsibilities / Marine Electrician Lead: • Assists supervisor and/or manager in performing and leading a crew engaged in electrical work in and around ships. • Perform and lead crew in inspecting, correcting, repairing and overhauling electrical equipment on marine equipment. • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical equipment, determine replacement needs or new material required, develop logical approach to correct the problem and install updated equipment. • Figure layout installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels. • Receive and examine wiring diagrams, drawings and instructions covering emergency and scheduled repairs, calibrate, service and replace electronic devices and systems. • Lay-out, pull, lift and install cables and conduit as needed. • Test electrical equipment and low and high-voltage circuit systems for safety and in accordance with Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Standard Items. • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning electrical equipment • May attend production, planning and/or progress meetings as needed. • Ensure safety practices and procedures are adhered to. • Supports and may provide employee on the job training and technical support. • Demonstrates ability to appear for work on time, follow directions from a supervisor, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow work rules and procedures, comply with corporate policies, goals and objectives, accept constructive feedback, establish goals and objectives, and exhibit initiative and commitment. • Other duties as assigned, requested or needed. Education and Experience: • High School diploma or GED certificate or equivalent education and experience. • 8-10 plus years’ experience (military/marine or ship repair industry preferred). Marine Electrician Lead; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: • Ability to operate and maintain various hand and electrical tools. • Ability and tolerance to meet due dates and deadlines and/or time constraints. • Ability to perform basic math and calculation functions. • Ability to read and comprehend work specifications, technical manuals and standards. • Knowledge of electrical systems in ships. • Ability to obtain / maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance.
