This position is responsible for leading a team of Reimbursement professionals in developing and delivering the health economics, reimbursement, and market access strategy for the remede System. This role will collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing team members to support clinicians and accounts providing the remede System therapy.

Respicardia was acquired by ZOLL in 2021 and provides a comprehensive set of technologies for critical cardiopulmonary conditions.

The remede® System is a safe and effective treatment for moderate to severe central sleep apnea that offers improved patient satisfaction and an overall better quality of life.

JOB SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for leading a team of Reimbursement professionals in developing and delivering the health economics, reimbursement, and market access strategy for the remede System. This role will collaborate closely with Sales and Marketing team members to support clinicians and accounts providing the remede System therapy.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct the development and implementation of strategic reimbursement, market access and evidence plans.
  • Direct strategic health economics needs for Respicardia, including planning for economic/reimbursement dossier submissions for private and public coverage of key technologies.
  • Establish reimbursement in targeted international markets
  • Manage contracted Patient Access Program to ensure successful prior authorization and claim resolution.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner with field sales leadership to develop and deliver value messaging.
  • Deliver reimbursement and health economic materials for hospital C-Suite, value analysis committees, service line directors, purchasing / materials management staff, billing/coding staff, and other value purchasers
  • Manage Field Reimbursement team in providing coding and billing education, address reimbursement issues, and support claim resolution
  • Cultivate relationships with key hospital administrators and payor organizations / societies
  • Support policy efforts through participation in specialty society and trade organization work groups and meetings and identify physicians to assist with reimbursement or payor coverage policy advocacy
  • Budget for all reimbursement resources, including defining and securing needed resources to accomplish business strategic objectives and adhering to established budget guidelines.
  • Maintain and monitor team workload, performance, and quality
  • Assess and manage direct reports' learning and development opportunities
  • Conduct annual and ongoing performance reviews with recommendations for compensation changes, promotions, and disciplinary action as appropriate
  • Participate in the interviewing, hiring, and retention of highly engaged and diverse employees

  • Execute company strategic business plans and long and short term objectives
  • Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to other members of the leadership team
  • Seek out opportunities to mentor and lead cross-functional and cross-divisional teams

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in a reimbursement role, preferably for a Medical Device company
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. and global healthcare systems including expertise in health care financing, reimbursement policies related to the device industry, and technology assessment.
  • Demonstrable experience designing and implementing successful market access strategies
  • Outstanding communications and interpersonal skills including developing relationships at all levels in an organization and directly influencing business objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently and to accomplish tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Team-player mindset and willingness to collaborate
  • Willing to take responsibility and act independently when necessary
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of working hours
