We are currently looking for a Market Analyst I or II for our Houston, TX office.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Provide analysis of market trends in support of the Commercial group and implement improvements in data collection and report generation.

• Maintain, improve, and build quantitative models in Excel to forecast and analyze gas fundamentals in support of the 5 year plan
• Research, gather, and analyze information on new and existing projects, drilling activity, decline rates
• Assist on research, presentations, and special projects
• Improve functionality and workflow efficiency of existing models and databases.
• General support of the firm's commercial activities and other deliverables, including across teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Two years of energy experience with a producer, end-user or trading company
• Expert in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Comfortable managing and creating charts, slides, and complex Excel models
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Interest in analytical work and its application in informing commercial decisions
• Enthusiasm for developing a lasting career in the natural gas space

PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Knowledge of VBA for Excel, Microsoft Access, SQL, Business Objects and advanced quantitative tools (such as R and Python) are a plus
• Familiarity with the natural gas industry and markets preferred

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

• Bachelors Degree
