SUMMARY
The Market and Customer Research Senior Manager leads an organization that furthers the evolution of Competitive Intelligence in the commercial space. This role will oversee the growth and development of two data analysts, while expanding the accessibility of Competitive Intelligence across the business. There will be frequent interactions with multiple departments, including Sales, Marketing, Pricing, Product Management, Operations, and Strategy as this team is a trusted advisor for competitive analysis and insights. This key leader will work closely with the regional pricing managers to increase intelligence flowing to and from the field teams, to drive deeper competitive insights, and to enable our front-line partners to win in an increasingly competitive market.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Effectively communicate competitive insights and guidance to various stakeholders, including Senior Leadership, Marketing, Product Management, and Strategy.
- Establish analytically driven measures of competitive performance that can be leveraged to drive marketing actions, inform financial forecasting, and direct infrastructure planning.
- Lead the data collection, analysis, and insights for a monthly competitive report.
- Increase competitive intelligence capabilities through vendor management, data analysis, and partnerships with Technology and Enablement teams.
- Partner with Field teams to effectively gather and distribute key competitive insights for their region while helping to craft competitive responses when appropriate.
- Support product development, management, and marketing efforts through in-depth competitive intelligence across the broad commercial portfolio of services.
- Partner with Technology and Enablement to integrate competitive intelligence into primary sales systems.
- Support the alignment of residential and business competitive intelligence data and priorities.
- Collaborate with the analytics teams to support competitive risk assessments, marketing actions, and performance monitoring.
- Define processes for incorporating and leveraging large, complex datasets used in informing key business decisions.
- Maintain competitive pricing matrices and detailed offerings through research and strong relationships with vendors.
- Develop and guide a team of two analysts.
- Responsible for quality and timeliness of all deliverables.
- Analyze organizational issues, determines the root cause and creates alternative solutions that are in the best interest of the business.
- Analyzes economic, financial, market and industry information from multiple sources to identify trends, assess current business strategies and results and/or evaluate specific opportunities. Articulates the implications of trends for own department or team as well as for the broader organization.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum
- BA/BS degree and 8 years of experience in related field (Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, Strategy) OR MS degree and 6 years of related experience OR Ph.D. and 3 years of related experience OR High School Diploma/GED AND 12 years of related experience
- Proven experience making data-driven decisions with multi-million-dollar impact
- Strong ability to organize, analyze, interpret, and disseminate information
- Demonstrated creativity to develop insights and innovative recommendations
- Experience in statistics, research methodology, and test design, analysis, and tools
- Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Must be team player with excellent interpersonal, leadership, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout matrixed organization
- Ability to thrive in a high change, fast paced business environment
Preferred
- Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant quantitative field strongly desired
- Experience working with large data sets using structured query tools
- Experience in telecommunications or subscription-based industry
