Market Development Analyst

Pine Gate Renewables is seeking a Market Development Analyst to join our growing Development team. As the Market Development Analyst, you will join a cross-functional execution team charged with the formulation of Pine Gate’s commercial and market strategy and be accountable for the origination, development, and monetization of a portfolio of selected projects. Under the Vice President of Market Development’s direction, your functions will include evaluating markets for solar energy and battery storage deployment across the team’s geographic footprint, coordinating across the different disciplines within the organization to formulate commercial strategy and optimize project value, monitoring and communicating changes to portfolio value and status, researching and understanding state regulatory frameworks and energy market dynamics, and owning several reporting processes to track portfolio status and ensure project spending needs are met.  You will be comfortable meeting high standards in a deadline-driven environment. In this position you will have access to coaching from leaders of different departments and execution teams across the organization, from Development to Project Finance to Engineering and Construction.

• Conduct market research to determine commercial viability and value of projects across the Southeastern United States; effectively communicate actionable guidance to Market Development leadership.
• Contribute to strategic planning and reporting by working with the execution team on project execution, portfolio monetization, offtake opportunities, project M&A and construction schedules.
• Coordinate with internal teams on policy initiatives to creatively assess and explore potential for new market development, including conducting market and industry research and analysis.
• Assist origination efforts by reviewing offtake opportunities and managing submissions to requests for proposals (RFP) from all customer segments.
• Assist with the management of due diligence of projects that are potential acquisitions to confirm projects are economically viable and constructible within applicable deadlines.
• Collaborate with Project Finance and EPC team members to optimize project profitability throughout the development lifecycle.
• Help network and manage relationships along the entire industry to find opportunities and drive value.
• Help develop and manage marketing materials to drive policy, build business relationships, and open up new commercial opportunities for the organization.

• 1-2 years of experience working in business development, project development, or policy and government affairs.
• Knowledge of energy markets or energy policy and regulatory processes.
• Creative thinking is a must. Ability to think outside the box to find and explore opportunities, understand risk, and drive value for current and future projects.
• Excellent quantitative, analytical, and communication skills; ability to condense and clearly communicate complex ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, multi-task, make decisions, prioritize, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
• Strong work ethic, a high degree of detail orientation, and an overarching sense of motivation, diligence, and organization.

• 1-2 years in renewable energy development.

• Bachelor’s Degree required; demonstrated academic interest in renewable energy preferred.
