About Our Summer 2023 Internship Program

Our interns provide valuable support and fresh perspectives to our teams as we work toward setting a new direction in the fight against cancer.

This is a 10-week program, designed to provide impactful work and foster an environment for learning and professional development through mentorship and networking opportunities. Throughout the program, our interns will be empowered to drive key projects with real business outcomes. This is a highly cross-functional and personalized program, offering guidance and support from our Hiring Managers and assigned mentors.

Please note:
Our program is intended to begin in mid-June and end mid-late August. The working hours for this role are 9am-5pm Pacific Time, with some flexibility determined by the Hiring Manager and leadership team. This position is open to remote within the US.

About this opportunity:

Our Market Development and Partnership team provides integral clinical research, business, and operational solutions. In this role, you will help provide high-level support for Freenome’s commercial team responsible for partnership formation and development. In this role, you will gain critical commercial healthcare experience from challenging, meaningful projects, with guidance from a mentor and other team members. You will also gain business development experience and a high-level understanding of cancer biology and physiology.

What you’ll do:

  • Support critical Market Development and Partnership initiatives
    • Conduct market research to help identify growth opportunities for hospitals, health systems, insurance plans, and other organizations across the healthcare ecosystem
    • Help organize partnerships, accounts, contacts, and roles to scale outreach campaigns and initiatives
    • Help prepare information and support market development meetings and partner interactions
    • Prepare meeting summaries and capture notes
    • Update documents and sales records
  • Work cross-functionally across the business, product, and clinical teams
  • Prepare a final presentation of your work and key learnings 

Must haves:

  • Currently a junior or above in a Bachelor’s program for Business, Communications or other relevant fields
  • Or alternatively, within 1 year post-graduation or post-certification
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with a broad, diverse audience
  • Proactive and eager to learn

Nice to haves:

  • Proficiency in G-Suite (e.g. Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Numbers, etc.)
  • Proficiency in Salesforce
