Neptune Medical is a Silicon Valley based, venture capital funded medical device start-up that is designing, building, and commercializing category-defining next-generation medical devices and systems for GI endoscopy and Endoluminal robotics. We have a fantastic team, technology, and investors.
The company is now seeking an experienced Market Development Manager (MDM). In this role, you will play a leading role in KOL development and management, executing a successful commercial portfolio for Neptune's GI Endoscopy products, including the Pathfinder® and other future pipeline products.
The ideal candidate would display the ability to perform to the below requirements with a high level of individual responsibility. The ideal candidate would act with passion, intensity, integrity, inventiveness, wisdom, and urgency as the leader of a VC-funded medical device start-up that is fast-paced, collaborative, and driven to change standards for medical care.Â
About The Role
The GI Market Development Manager (MDM) – Northeast, is a key strategic KOL development and Account management role tasked with supporting the growth of the Pathfinder® franchise. Working hand-in-hand with the Sales and Marketing teams, you will be a catalyst to access and grow new markets, explore new product applications and be a business partner in new and key accounts. The MDM is a key resource, tied in with the entire GI organization, aligning with the Regional Sales Team, and collaborating closely with Product Marketing and R&D to identify and execute key strategies to drive brand awareness and revenue growth for Neptune Medical.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Engage Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and develop a strategy to use their input and support.
- Serve as a Company liaison/ambassador with KOLs and within key accounts.
- Identify and develop physician champions in high-value accounts.
- Understand customers’ business objectives, strategies and requirements. Use that understanding for executing to meet the account needs.
- Support sales organization in variety of commercial activities.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive regional opportunity plan to accelerate growth.
- Proctor cases with our devices.
- Manage new product introduction activities in partnership with Sales professionals.
- Provide Market intelligence and insights to Sales, Marketing and R&D teams.
- Assist in the development and implementation of promotional materials & training materials.
- Develop and execute a podium strategy to increase the visibility and understanding of our products.
- Create, implement, and lead plans for GI trade shows and conferences.
- Understand and develop strategies relative to both competitive threats and new opportunities.
- Develop a solid understanding of, and keep up-to-date with, clinical literature.
- Become a trusted and respected member of Neptune Medical by demonstrating leadership to internal and external customers.
- Recruit and Sales and Marketing personnel to support expansion of the Pathfinder Franchise.
Essential Requirements
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment.
- Willing to be hands-on and a team player, potentially wearing many hats.
- 4 yr. B.A./B.S. or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of medical device experience.
- 3+ years of experience in either upstream (new product development) or downstream (heavily preferred, product launch/commercialization), commercial/sales experience, or combination of relevant experience.
- Ability to travel up to 50%. High-value courses and events may require some weekend travel.
- Possess creativity, with an inventive aptitude balanced with discipline and detail-orientation.
- A strong KOL management aptitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Live in a major market for the region, ideally close to a major airport hub, or willing to relocate.
Highly Desirable Skills
- Master’s/MBA
- Experience in GI Endoscopy.
- Ability to collaborate and work with others in a dynamic, matrix environment.
- Demonstrated success supporting and/or managing complex projects.
- Proven track record of successful KOL development. We are looking for a candidate who can foster and strengthen professional relationships with KOLs and industry partners.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base pay for this role is between $130,000 and $150,000 per year depending on experience. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: education, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity, benefits and 401(K) with matching.
