Description:

The Market Development Manager, Sustainability is responsible for identifying & developing short term commercial market development for Braskem's North American business, with a direct focus on the sales growth of recycled product lines. The focus will expand to include additional sustainable solutions as those solutions become available. In addition, you will identify market development opportunities and increase sales within existing market segments and new emerging markets.

The individual in this role will serve as a sustainable products expert for Braskem's commercial team, clients, and brand owners. In addition, this person will educate Braskem's Account Managers on Braskem's sustainable product portfolio and offer support to clients and brand owners.

This person will also collaborate with other channels, such as Digital, to optimize current and new tools for sales opportunities. In addition, they will work closely with Braskem's North American Circular Economy and Sustainability (CE&S) team to ensure continued alignment between Braskem's corporate and regional CE&S strategies and local Commercial/Market Development efforts. They will also interact with the global team to share knowledge and identify best practices for commercializing Braskem's recycled products.

This individual will also travel and represent Braskem at sustainability conferences, and trade shows to drive market development and promote Braskem's sustainable product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners throughout the value chain, including brand owners and OEMs, to identify new sales opportunities for Braskem's various sustainable product offerings.
  • Identify and understand market dynamics, competitive landscape, and clients' needs for specific products to pursue growth and achieve Braskem's PCR (post-consumer recycled) goals.
  • Develop new sales areas/targets, above and beyond Braskem's core market segments, for Braskem's PCR products, including leveraging digital channels and tools.
  • Develop key market insights and support strategy development and execution by deeply understanding clients' needs and market demand.
  • Collaborate with Technical Sustainability Manager on potential product solutions to support market demand and achieve Braskem's PCR goals.
  • Represent Braskem at commercial industry groups and conferences.
  • Serve as an internal leader and expert for sustainable products and programs; guide internal teams (CES, Commercial) to develop sustainable product roadmaps to meet the market's needs.
  • Work with global Circular Economy & Sustainability (CE&S) teams to understand product offerings and capabilities, product development opportunities, and market dynamics.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years total work experience; preferred minimum 10 years of experience in a market development related role and minimum 5 years in a customer-facing role
  • Preferably a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or chemical engineering.
  • Experience in the polymer industry or recycled plastics industry.
