The Market Director is passionate about building long-term partnerships and identifying new opportunities to drive market engagement and loyalty within their local community. They maintain Material Bank's brand image in design hotspots while manifesting the Material Bank way of life. They are disciplined, organized, and have an infectious enthusiasm for curating extraordinary experiences. The Market Director likes to create connections through their enviable network on the local scene and deliver excellence in everything they do

As the local face of Material Bank, the Market Director operates as true in-market ambassadors of the Material Bank brand, supporting our members, brand reps, end-users, and influencers. They regularly check in with their accounts to build affinity and understanding of the Material Bank brand, products, services, and tools as well as identify targets for both organic and focused acquisition. The Market Director possesses a keen sense of the industry, the needs of the design community and brand reps, the nuances of relationship building, and Material Bank's role in connecting a range of stakeholders.  The Market Director will be an integral part of a cross-functional Member Experience team.

THE HIGHLIGHTS 

BUILD THE LOVE 
Campaign for Material Bank adoption. Gain mindshare with local stakeholders, resulting in increased use and loyalty to the Material Bank platform. Build strong connections with members, Brand reps, key influencers, and end-users. 

BE ON THE SCENE  
Deeply integrate with the local scene; stand at the intersection of what's going on and what's happening next in the industry.  Constantly find new members to welcome to the Material Bank community.
 
PLAY MATCH-MAKER 
Understand the nuances of the local market and play super-connector between members and Brand reps through business networking. Take a direct, personal approach to cultivating high-quality relationships.  

BE A ROLE MODEL 
Display passion, commitment, and personal conviction for the Material Bank brand. Lead by example and personify the Material Bank entrepreneurial spirit. Promote our brand image and set a great example by delivering excellence in everything you do.  

OWN IT 
Continuously identify approprate initiatives for your territory and diligently track, analyze, and report on performance and areas of growth and opportunity. 
 
BE A CHANGE AGENT 
Stay on the leading edge of industry knowledge, trends, and new opportunities. Highlight how Material Bank will evolve and help our members and brand reps power their business.  

What you'll do:

  • Understand the interior industry landscape, market influencers, and B2B sales processes. Lean on data and insights to draw the correct conclusions best to connect members, Brand reps, and Material Bank.
  • Actively engage in and support local industry associations (IIDA, ASID, etc.) and Brand-partner events. 
  • Efficiently and cost-effectively covers the defined territory. Act autonomously and proactively.
  • Execute specific market tasks and responsibilities. Complete all weekly KPIs allocated to the individual territory.
  • Expand business beyond your existing account list and win over new members, brand reps, and end-users. Be bold and take innovative measures to drive market share gains. 
  • Seek new opportunities that drive mutual gain, strengthen business relationships and expand Material Bank's brand presence. 
  • Deploy creative problem-solving skills to solve business challenges.
  • Partner with other Market Directors and Marketing to co-develop promo campaigns, tool development, market events, and other member-focused activities.

What you'll bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in the interiors industry; Design, Sales or other commensurate experience preferred.
  • Understand the sales process and interior design industry. Lean on data and insights and draw the correct conclusions to develop engagements that provide value to members, Brand reps, and Material Bank.
  • Enjoy working in an evolving and fast-growing environment.
  • Possess an established industry network.  Own the ability to make relationships quickly and smoothly.
  • Understand intimate knowledge of the whole project cycle and various stakeholders involved in the buying process.  
  • Passionate, energetic, and possess a can-do attitude. 
  • Confident in decision-making ability and excel with autonomy.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required.
