CookUnity is the first chef-to-you marketplace connecting the country's most talented chefs with eaters (consumers). We're changing meal delivery by bringing small-batch, restaurant-quality meals to eaters across the country. Every week, a diverse collective of all-star chefs craft their signature, ready-to-eat dishes for an elevated at-home dining experience.
CookUnity is home to more than 100 of NYC, LA, Austin, Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle and Miami’s most inspired and innovative chefs. Through a weekly subscription, eaters can select from a diverse, ever-changing menu of hundreds of hand-crafted meals. What we're looking for

We're looking for a talented Market Director responsible for further scaling the growth of our Chicago operations. We're looking for someone who can think strategically while simultaneously manage the execution of a day-to-day operation.

The Role

As the Market Director, you'll be responsible for providing a consistent and predictable experience to our eaters and our chefs.

You'll be leading and managing all the teams of our different facilities which includes kitchen, food safety, fulfillment, logistics, warehouse and receiving, and facility maintenance, ensuring they are set for success. All this with a long-term mindset nurturing positive daily habits with special care on scalability, being cost-efficient, and kind internally. This role will also help to elevate the standard, streamlining processes, and provide efficient guidelines and set other kitchens for success.

Success for this role will be measured by customer satisfaction and profitability of operations.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and coach the team to achieve operational excellence.
  • Oversee all operations of the facilities to ensure business objectives are met
  • Build analysis to understand our strengths and weaknesses, competitive pressures and opportunity areas. Implement and drive continuous improvement activities through best practices.
  • Analyze P&L to identify investment opportunities, cost, and potential future revenue streams.
  • Monitor overall production processes and scheduling systems across the organization.
  • Help operations meet production requirements, even if it requires hands-on participation in the areas of Process, Packaging and Material Management.
  • Collaborate with Customer Experience to continuously improve the delivery experience and respond to delivery exceptions and requests.
  • Work cross-functionally with our Product, Engineering, Finance, Expansion and Marketing teams to create and implement strategic projects that contribute to achieving our revenue goals
Qualifications
  • You have 10+ years of experience in senior leadership roles in manufacturing companies and/or food industry.
  • You have strong knowledge in logistics, pricing, marketplaces or supply-demand economics.
  • You have a streamlining mindset: automate, reduce and simplify: you are obsessed with 1% improvements.
  • At your core, you’re a data-driven, analytical problem solver, capable of tackling urgent challenges with innovative solutions and efficient communication.
  • You have experience leading people, directly and indirectly, to a common, shared goal. You are a peoples person. Humaneness. Kind. Can truly listen.
  • Excellent organization, time management and prioritization skills; proven ability to balance multiple critical tasks and consistently deliver against hard deadlines

The annual base salary range for this role is $125,000-$160,000 (USD), which does not include our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based upon work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things.
