Who we are looking for
We are a growing team of market researchers responsible for translating, decoding, and predicting market and consumer shifts to identify key opportunities and threats to Nike Inc.
In this role, you will be responsible for the development and application of best-in-class market analysis methodologies as part of Nike's market insights program that informs corporate strategy, brand direction, consumer and product opportunities. Alongside delivering market analysis and insights proactively and in response to business questions, you will build tools and visualizations to unlock market data to drive insight into the market. You will play a significant role in crafting the future of market insights.
The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of third-party data sets, extensive experience working with large scale tracking data, and expertise in triangulating across multiple data sources to identify market opportunities or threats, and shaped consumer and market strategies.

What your responsibilities will be
- Demonstrate your mastery of a range of market research data and advanced analytical methods to deliver insights on market trends, opportunities and risks.
- Recommend and establish data and analysis standard processes for triangulation and calibration of multiple market data sources.
- Define, produce and present results including dashboards, presentations and recurring reports that find opportunities to shape consumer experiences and that advises and inspire internal collaborators to action.
- Develop and enforce timelines to run and implement project components efficiently and within budget.
- Lead vendors and internal partners with communications that create rapport, trust, and satisfaction.
- Understand partner needs and help them reach their goals via research execution, as well as giving suggestions based on subject matter expertise outside of research data.
- Recognize opportunities for improvement and take action to capitalize on them. Actively lead problem solving efforts, providing suggestions and taking action on areas needing improvement. Adapt processes and analyses as needs change.
- Own relationships and drive teamwork across multiple functional, business and analytics teams, managing multiple projects and balancing both speed and difficulty.
What you bring to Nike
Education
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, econometrics, applied math, operations research, behavioral sciences, Business, Finance, Economics, Quantitative Marketing or combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
- Advanced degree and experience with statistical packages such as R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc. a plus
- 6+ years in Business and Market Analytics and/or Consumer Insights or relevant experience.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills; ability to analyze raw data, draw conclusions, and develop impactful recommendations required.
- Strong hands-on experience working with real-world analytics questions and challenges; leading a complex portfolio and multiple partners in a fast paced, dynamic and matrixed team and business environment
- Experience working with large scale tracking data and using analyses to identify market opportunities or threats, and shaped consumer and market strategies
- Experience with triangulating multiple data sources, and resourceful and innovative with quantitative approaches
- Extensive exposure to third-party data sets (e.g., outputs, methodologies, publishing, limitations) and a strong understanding of key topics and emerging trends in market research, third-party data, and consumer insights broadly
- Strong experience in SQL, or similar experience analyzing large structured and unstructured datasets. Strong visualization experience, Tableau preferred.
- Exceptional ability to understand complex analytics topics, translate them into relevant conclusions/deliverables, and develop and deliver significant presentations, visualizations, and infographics
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to a variety of audiences, including results packaging and development of management presentations
- Partner across other data science and other functional teams (such as Strategy and Finance) at Nike to help accelerate and leverage data capabilities and insights
- Consistent record collaborating and working with non-Analytics partners in a fast-paced environment.
