Job Description
- Works with Vice President of Sales to define the strategic marketing plan for the company.
- Manages and coordinates all marketing, advertising and promotional activities, in line with the defined strategic plan.
- Conducts market research, as needed, to determine market requirements for existing and future products. Analyses customer research, current market conditions and competitor information. Monitors competitive products and marketing activities.
- Develops and implements marketing plans and projects for new and existing products, including the monitoring, review and reporting of all marketing activity and results.
- Acts as a liaison with media and advertising. Regularly submits technical articles and press releases to appropriate media sources. Achieves frequent, timely and positive media coverage for Cornell's product lines and programs across all available media.
- Ensures effective control of marketing results and takes corrective action to guarantee that achievement of marketing objectives are within projections.
- Provides guidance and preparation of marketing activity reports and presents such information to executive management.
- Coordinates with Regional Managers and Market Managers and Sales Team to ensure the appropriate placement of promotional materials amongst Cornell's numerous sales channels.
- Maintains & develops all product literature, technical literature, sales tools, presentations, and price pages. Works with Sales and Engineering to obtain & verify necessary technical data needed. Provides support on all marketing programs. Manages in-house printing, and outsourcing of print productions for various marketing & sales materials. Responsible for CD duplication, miscellaneous requests from Sales, Engineering & Internal Departments, as well as external sales channels.
- Assistance and coordination of price pages, including processing of pricing changes and distribution to Cornell sales channels.
- Oversight of Cornell web-site, including its design and search optimization.
- Travels, as needed, to Trade Shows, Exhibitions and other promotional events. Travel expected to be 10% or less, annually

- Develop, monitor, and document a marketing expense budget, in conjunction with the Vice President of Sales.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Directly supervises 1-3 employees in designated department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with an emphasis in marketing, mechanical or industrial engineering and at least three to ten years of direct sales & marketing experience working with and developing accounts in fluid handling, or progressive displacement equipment. Requires sound knowledge of problem solving skills and PC skills. Some travel required.
