Market Research Analyst

The ideal candidate is highly analytical and business savvy, excels at research, spreadsheets and diving into financial statements for some of the world's largest companies. The candidate is able to independently manage priorities and multitask, and can partner with key decision makers to drive to successful outcomes.

Using knowledge of financials and the insurance industry your responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Financial research, claim/policy research, market research, and content creation around all of the research. You will partner with cross-functional teams including Customer Success Managers, Sales, Product and the rest of the Research and Analysis team to align and understand where our market is going and why.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyzing financial statements, building and maintaining detailed financial models and valuations of listed companies within the global property and casualty insurance market.
• Actively tracking news/corporate announcements/regulations and study the impact on sectors under coverage
• Tracking the designated sector and writing sectoral and results preview/review reports.
• Assisting in initiating coverage and bringing new insurers under coverage.
• Creating financial and strategic overview of a given insurer to provide to those closest to the account.
• Attend management calls & prepare earnings /management meets/conferences notes and updates.
• Conducting on-ground research/channel checks/lateral meets for better view on the sector.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of financial terms, valuations, balance sheet, etc
• Ability to understand insurance terms and financials across a variety of geographies and put those into global context
• Proficient in building financial models
• Data skills - ability to sift through large amounts of data, draw conclusions and create formulaic capabilities in Google Sheets and/or Excel
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and express views and opinions clearly and definitively.
• Attention to detail and accuracy and diligence in ensuring high quality research output.
• Analytical and numerical skills along with skills in advanced excel and database use (e.g. Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
• SQL, Database usage, et.al. a tremendous plus
• Demonstrated ability to work in a time sensitive environment

Qualification

• MBA
• Should be open to traveling to other countries, with an expected travel requirement of 0-10%.
