Job Overview

The Market Research Principal is an exciting business unit lead role. The individual will sit on the leadership team and input into the position and strategy of the business unit. They will have full P&L responsibility for their group and are expected to drive the attainment of annual sales and profitability goals.

We are looking for someone with experience in building high-performing teams, growing new business and client relationships, and a willingness to be hands-on in research projects as they build the team capabilities.

Reporting to the President of KMK, the Market Research Principal will drive the strategic and financial goals of the business unit through the support of marketing and sales efforts, development of research proposals, management of projects, and supervision and development of market research staff. The Principal will ideally be experienced in both quantitative and qualitative market research methods and will be comfortable in personally conducting interviews when needed.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities

The Principal will be expected to:

• Effectively engage clients to generate business and ensure a high level of satisfaction with all project work
• Prepare compelling market research proposals
• Contribute to KMK thought leadership efforts by writing whitepapers and presenting at webinars and conferences
• Personally execute market research projects, or lead teams of analysts in the execution of market research projects as required
• Supervise and contribute to the development of junior market research staff
• Build the business unit position, strategy, and offerings
• Create an effective on and off-shore team shape
• Create a profitable business unit and drive 15-20% year on year growth

Requirements

The successful candidate for this position will have at least 8 years of experience in conducting market research studies at a research consultancy—ideally with a focus on the healthcare sector. Experience in interviewing and conducting group discussions is required. Prior experience in effectively managing teams of analysts will be a plus.

While an advanced degree in a relevant social science or technical area is desirable, it is not required.
