Job Overview
AAC-USA's mission is to provide safe and efficient access to capital markets around the world. The Market Surveillance and Supervision (MSS) department resides within the Risk Department and performs surveillance of the sales and trading practices of the firm and its customers including all markets in which AAC-US services. MSS is also tasked as Principals of the firm to manage, execute, and to diagnose potential issues in essential US Regulatory Reporting. The department operates in a culture and framework of compliance and risk awareness in order to protect the firm and to maintain the trust and confidence of all stakeholders (clients, regulators, shareholders).
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct daily regulatory surveillance reviews (Market Surveillance utilizing Nasdaq Trade Surveillance - SMARTS)
- File and review regulatory reporting including Large Option Position Reports (LOPR), Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT), Electronic Blue Sheets (EBS), Short Interest etc.
- Document, review and approve new account documentation for Securities, Options and Futures/Commodities
- Review all sales correspondence (e.g., advertising and sales literature)
- Review of communications (e.g., email, IM, etc.)
- Work closely with Compliance to respond to regulatory inquiries
- Stay up-to-date on current rules and potential changes to industry regulations
- Work closely with IT, Operations and management within AAC-USA to develop efficiencies through automation, development of new processes or modification of existing processes
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required
- At least five years of experience in Compliance, Regulatory, Supervisory or as a Registered Representative/principal role with a Broker/Dealer
- Experience with futures, equities and options marketplace and its microstructure.
- Experience with the mechanics of a clearing organization
- Understanding of Industry Rules and Regulations (including Reg SHO, CAT, LOPR)
- Experience in creating/calibrating surveillance reports and systems (SMARTS/NTS)
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Series 7, Series 24 and Series 3 preferred
