Your Role:

The Marketing Automation Manager is responsible for developing, delivering, and executing automated marketing strategies that will enhance awareness, increase audience and promote engagements leading to revenue-positive conversions. This position leads a team responsible for successful planning and tactical execution of email marketing. Beyond email, the Marketing Automation Lead will also be tasked with leading automation innovation, such as SMS messaging, integration with apps, live streaming and connected devices, in partnership with digital marketers across the company.

Expected Compensation Range: $85,800 - $105,000/yr. Exact salary determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure and internal equity.

Position Responsibility:

ENTERPRISE WIDE:

  • Defines enterprise vision and strategy for engagement, lead generation and fundraising
  • Establishes business unit email strategies in partnership with BU leadership, to align on editorial strategies and loyalty products to grow and engage the audience
  • Drive the development of personalized and targeted email marketing leveraging data-driven user behavior and AI
  • Partner with paid digital marketing, content and measurement partners to determine best practice omni channel strategy and management
  • Leads marketing automation team members to operate within strategic direction articulated above

DATABASE MANAGEMENT:

  • Enhance regular reporting of marketing automation KPIs and surface business insights by leading the team to analyze data from lead attribution, pipeline metrics, and other marketing programs
  • Lead the marketing automation team to critically think about data to assess and optimize campaign performance

KPIs & MEASUREMENT:

  • Establish enterprise benchmarks and scorecards to deliver against KPIs
  • Establish email performance dashboards to include both performance and data quality
  • Drive better alignment between revenue and content through common term alignment, goal setting, definition of revenue funnel, planning and lead scoring
  • Create revenue modeler for engagement, lead generation and fundraising programs
  • Lead a team culture that is centered on data and performance

EMAIL CAMPAIGNS:

  • Establish automation customer experiences leveraging user behavior, design and technology to drive engagement, retention and loyalty
  • Establish enterprise campaign storyboarding best practices against business unit email strategies
  • Identify opportunities to scale digital marketing campaigns, integrating Emails, Landing Pages & Forms with webinars, events and paid promotion
  • Establish persona architecture, market definition, value proposition and funnel mapping and content nurture stream planning across key segments
  • Coach and lead the marketing automation team to be effective partners to the organization with flawless operations and campaign strategy
  • Manage enterprise-wide email calendar to ensure ideal experience for audiences and members

TEAM MANAGEMENT:

  • Coaches and develops Marketing Automation Team members, whilst ensuring they deliver against organization priorities
    • Marketing Automation Developer
    • Marketing Automation Specialist
  • Manages freelance and contractor support

Required Education and Experience:

  • B.A./B.S. degree in a marketing, project management or communications discipline or equivalent work experience.
  • Additional postgraduate, professional marketing qualifications would be an advantage
  • 7+ years of proven experience in marketing
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing automation
  • 5 + years of leadership and management experience
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing strategies and tactics across a range of channels including social media, search marketing, e-commerce, lead generation, web analytics and others.
  • Campaign management experience (i.e., Google ad words, SEM, email campaigns, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of the digital landscape and how it is used to support and develop the brand
  • Strong proficiency of web analytics to analyze campaigns and websites
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar email service provider

  • Knowledge of email design (HTML, CSS) and production
  • Must be curious and eager to learn, demonstrating openness to feedback and coaching.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, organize and accurately prioritize work, be detail-oriented, and understand when urgency is required
  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion in dealing with confidential information

  • Quantitative and qualitative data analyses skills, with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience with demonstrated development and design experience (HTML, CSS, AMPscript)
  • General knowledge of SQL

Reporting to This Position: Two full time team members (Marketing Automation specialist and Marketing Automation developer)
