Job Description

Job Title: Marketing Campaigns Specialist

Reporting to: Head of Marketing

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Liberis is the leading global provider of embedded business finance. We are proud to have delivered more than $1bn in funding to SMEs across the UK, EU and US, but we’ve only just started. Come and join us as we build the future of business finance!

Who we are and why we exist

At Liberis – merchants matter most! We’ve been on a mission to provide small and medium businesses (SMEs) with accessible and responsive finance since 2007. SMEs account for most businesses worldwide and are critical contributors to job creation and global economic development. They represent about 90% of businesses and more than 50% of employment worldwide. Despite this, more than three quarters (77%) of SME businesses last year were unable to secure the traditional bank financing they desperately needed to grow and thrive. This has created a $5 trillion funding gap for SMEs globally.

That’s where Liberis steps in! To best help small businesses, Liberis has built the leading global embedded finance platform. Through this, Liberis provides partners with the technology and financial solutions necessary to offer personalised and accessible funding to their small business customers.

To date with ~20 global strategic partners and direct reach to more than 1 million small businesses, Liberis has provided $1 bn of funding in over 50,000 transactions, enabling more than 100,000 jobs to be created and saved. We are making a genuine difference to your local pub, hairdresser and online retailer!

We are in a very exciting period of growth, in the UK and internationally, with teams based in London, Nottingham, Stockholm, Atlanta and remotely. We are looking for talented and ambitious individuals to help us reshape business finance. How we work is as important to us as what we do – exemplified by our behaviours:

#1 Merchants matter most – our success is tied to our merchants' success

#2 Act like time is running out – the fastest company in a growing market will win

#3 Own every outcome – the hardest problems we face are yet to be solved

#4 Communicate directly – we don’t have time to beat around the bush

#5 Prove it - every feature we build, decision we make and action we take, matters

#6 Empathy always - Liberis wins when every employee thrives

If our mission and behaviours resonate – get in touch!

Who are we?

As a marketing team, our job is to deliver best in class communications and frictionless customer journeys. We think creatively about how to have valuable conversations with our customers and make sure they understand our products. There are currently six of us in the team split across London and Stockholm with this role based in Atlanta. With exciting growth plans in the US, we are looking for a driven marketer to join us.

You’ll join a dynamic, fast paced innovative team, made up of enthusiastic and experienced marketers. You’ll help us drive leads and revenue for the business through campaigns to prospects and customers.

Who are you?

To be successful in the role, you’ll need the spirit of entrepreneurship, a drive to work in an exciting fast-paced company and have a passion for delivering excellent customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Campaign management

  • Manage monthly partner marketing campaigns to drive new customer acquisition. The campaign process involves copy and creative development, working on the segmentation approach, data brief, setting up tracking and partner collaboration to ensure campaigns go out on time. Core channels are email, direct mail, push notifications and banner ads, but we’re always looking to expand our channel mix.
  • With the support of the Head of Marketing, manage the partner relationships from a marketing perspective by building strong, collaborative and open relationships with them.
  • Report on campaign performance. Get into the numbers and spot where the opportunities are.
  • Plan campaigns ahead on a quarterly basis so that time is used efficiently.
  • Encourage partners to try new things, test, open up new channels and touchpoints, and be proactive in pushing for best practice learnings to be used in all communications.
  • Work closely with our design agency to produce engaging creatives that drive results.
  • Own the test and learn agenda for marketing in the US and ensure test outcomes are communicated to the right people and logged centrally. These will inform the future strategy.
  • Increase focus in the digital space. Introduce paid digital channels into our BAU campaign mix (after proving success through testing).

Support our US growth

We’re launching new partners in the US which will be instrumental to our growth. A big part of this role will be being the marketing point of contact for this region, building great relationships with both partners and internal stakeholders.

  • Work with the onboarding team to successfully launch new partners.
  • Own specific ‘growth initiatives’ aimed at improving marketing effectiveness.
  • Own the project management across these initiatives to ensure they deliver on time and with the anticipated benefits.
  • Gather region specific customer insights and apply these across the US portfolio to improve marketing efficacy.

More generally, we’re looking for someone who will

  • Think outside the box and always be striving for more whether it be suggesting a process improvement, pushing the boundaries with copy and creative or coming up with a new way to use our data. We like big thinkers!
  • Take an active interest and role in reporting - monitor and optimise the campaign performance. Use the data to make informed decisions on future campaigns and tests.
  • Be the customer champion. Care deeply about how our communications impact our customers. Are they clear? Are they engaging? Have we added value?
  • Build excellent relationships with internal stakeholders such as sales, analytics and finance. You’ll also need to work with external suppliers such as agencies and printers.
  • Be involved in commercial conversations and understand how marketing impacts the sales funnel so that you can drive improvements or test new ideas.
  • Report on campaign performance. Get into the numbers and spot where the opportunities are.
  • Partner closely with the sales team to ensure marketing supports monthly business targets.

We think you'll need

  • Ideally we’d like experience of direct marketing across a variety of channels including both offline and online channels, especially email.
  • Enthusiasm for marketing, determination and willingness to learn and get stuck in are key.
  • Strong project management and planning skill, bringing a structured and planned approach to delivery.
  • Experience using a marketing automation or email sending platform (ideally Hubspot). This is not essential to the role, but a desire to learn in this space is.
  • Ability to work on multiple campaigns at the same time – this is a fast-paced environment, but you’ll be supported all the way.
  • A drive to get things done. As a business we have a lot of opportunities. You’ll do well in this role if you grab some of them.
  • Proactive approach. Don’t wait for things to come to you.
  • Great people skills. You’ll be interacting with lots of people around the business and externally to get your job done and it’s important you can influence them. We love introverts and extraverts – the most important thing is attitude.
  • Experience working in Financial Services or a regulated environment will be helpful but absolutely not essential.
