Marketing Communications Manager
Job Description
The right candidate is confident and commanding, with experience developing corporate communications and managing campaigns from the simple to the complex. A member of the Marketing team, this role acts as a liaison linking cross-functional teams to drive communications planning, alignment, and efficient execution, and content performance across both client and prospect audiences.
Assignments may include coordinating the cross-functional inputs required to establish an aligned content and communications strategy and drive workflow efficiency and content performance; providing project and workflow management; managing and executing writing, editing, and publishing work; and managing a consolidated calendar that schedules and catalogs enterprise-wide content use and client and prospect communications. This role's responsibilities also may include content audit and inventory, technology management and use, and measurement and reporting. Though this role reports into Marketing, they play a pivotal role in aligning across business units, particularly Client Management, Commercial, HR, Product, Technology and others.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation of and execute against the company's corporate communication strategy
- Aggregate and maintain inputs for communication strategy and planning, including content planning, audience insights, personas, and messaging
- Provide operational support for content strategy and creation, engaging cross- functional participants and managing meeting and resource schedules, workflows, and deadlines
- Managing multiple simultaneous communications projects from briefing through to completion, and ensure timely completion of deliverables
- Developing and maintaining detailed project plans
- Craft program plans that are agile while anticipating roadblocks
- Identifying and securing necessary resources-both internal and external-for all marketing communication projects
- Keeping all project members accountable for their deliverables and timelines
- Bringing new ideas appropriate to how we can deliver amazing work faster, better and more cost effective, understanding how this can drive business results.
- Leaving an impression on partners, develop strong relationships, listen, and adapt when selecting methods of communication
- Bringing key stakeholders together and facilitating meetings, creating briefs and effective reporting within existing frameworks and new
- Troubleshooting effortlessly. Identify risks to projects slipping and institute a plan to mitigate them
- Working with the team to prioritize and reprioritize as needed
- Collaborating with external agency partners in certain instances as needed, ensuring clear briefing, great relationships, and amazing work
- Working effectively with external partners and internal colleagues to complete projects within budget and timing goals
- Proactively anticipating problems and offer solutions - finds way to accomplish what needs to get done
- Supporting development of annual budgets by providing ballpark project assumptions and budgets
- Contribute to overall content lifecycle management, from creation and editing through approvals, publishing/activation, auditing, measurement, curation, and maintenance
- Manage, contribute to, and publish content to support inbound content marketing and outbound content programs
- Manage creative brief development and use, working cross-functionally to gather the information needed to optimize asset creation, performance, and measurement
- Support and evangelize corporate brand and content governance practices
- Performing data analysis and interpreting data through a business and marketing lens to create recommendations
- Provide and report on content measurement using web analytics tools, marketing automation, content management systems, and social media management tools; make recommendations for optimizing content quality, processes, and activation channels
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Three to five years of experience or similar role in corporate marketing, content marketing and communications and/or creative agency experience
- Ability to engage multiple stakeholders when executing multiple projects and independently manage complex projects assigned
- Related market/industry experience is desirable. This includes but is not limited to the hospitality, travel, events, and payments industries.
- Structuring and storytelling, ability to take insights and tell a story
- Confident written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in writing and editing
- Adept listener who can synthesize information and explore subjects opportunistically to advance understanding and uncover additional value creation
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Creative thinker with a vision
- Attention to detail
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Marketo a plus
