The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago hosts the National Marketing Team for the Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) suite of products. The products we support are used by ~10,000 financial institutions in the U.S. and move over $4 trillion a day in payments.
The Marketing Communications Specialist develops and executes comprehensive strategic marketing communications plans with a focus on digital marketing for the Federal Reserve Financial Services (FRFS) division. This role is expected to lead efforts with a data-driven approach and strong project management skills when executing all marketing activities. The role is responsible for building positive relationships with internal stakeholders and the level of work is considered intermediate, where staff must be able to work independently with moderate supervision. This position does not have direct reports.
  • Support development of comprehensive strategic marketing communication plans that include situation overview, market insights, objectives, success metrics and integrated communication plans, by leveraging all channels to generate revenue/awareness of FRFS products and initiatives.
  • Develop and execute content marketing strategies across channels (owned, shared, paid, earned) in support of marketing communications plans.
  • Support efforts to synthesize data-driven insights and input to inform the communications strategy and package campaign results for use in reporting and optimizing campaign effectiveness.
  • Build complex project plans, coordinates content reviews and approvals, proactively manages the process to meet deadlines.
  • Partner with market research, analytics, customer support and relations teams to align on customer needs and customer experience.
  • Support efforts to identify industry trends in digital marketing and payments topics and determines impact on content marketing program.
  • Ensure appropriate crisis communications are distributed internally and externally in the event there is a disruption to services.
  • Plan and execute customer engagements via webinars and in-person events (logistics and materials).
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders.

Your Background
  • Intermediate knowledge of digital content strategy, corporate communications, B2B marketing principles and practices.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with an ability to synthesize complex topics and information.
  • Excellent presentation and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a complex, fast-paced agile environment, geographically diverse, and matrixed organization.
  • Strong attention to detail in planning and executing on deliverables.
  • Independent thinking, objective analysis, and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrates aptitude with integrated marketing communications tools and technologies, such as website and email content management systems, Google Analytics and data/insights dashboards, design and creative content applications, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Advertising, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience.
