The Sunwater Institute is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, public policy think tank dedicated to strengthening the foundations of liberal democracy. The Institute’s interdisciplinary, long-term orientation and focus on the building blocks of social systems sets it apart as a haven for bold, fresh ideas and free, constructive dialogue. Sunwater Institute developed Legis1, a congressional data platform that provides tools and resources to improve the performance and productivity of the U.S. Congress. The Sunwater Institute is located in North Bethesda and maintains a presence on Capitol Hill.

POSITION
The Sunwater Institute is seeking a Marketing Content Coordinator to develop and execute strategies to reach target audiences, manage its social media presence, oversee the production of written, audio, and video content, manage its brand and image, and help drive partnerships and collaborations.
Responsibilities
- Draft written content to market products via email and social media
- Identify target audiences and develop a communications and marketing strategy
- Develop and execute marketing plans for Sunwater revenue-generating products including a Congressional data platform targeted at policymakers, media, and influencers
- Drive the planning, preparation, editing, and distribution of content such as newsletters, articles, news, press releases, blogs, audio, video, social media posts, and other updates on behalf of the organization
- Provide marketing support for fundraising activities
- Manage the creation and operation of a video and audio content production studio
- Track, analyze, and report on metrics related to distribution, content consumption, and lead generation
- Develop relationships with media and influencers in areas related to the Institute’s work
- Work with the executive team to identify and execute partnerships and collaboration with other think tanks and academic institutions
Requirements
- Interest in the Sunwater Institute’s mission, intellectual curiosity, and an open mind
- 3+ years of relevant marketing/communications experience
- Experience and network within the public policy or advocacy community and the US Congress
- Strong technical understanding of CRMs, marketing and communications platforms, lead generation, and reporting
- Ability to leverage quantitative analytics and adjust strategies accordingly
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
