POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for the product portfolio maintenance throughout the product lifecycle including implementation, testing, training and execution of new products, product enhancements, marketing tools (Access Blue), and compliance/healthcare reform regulations including gathering business requirements, building processes and best practices to better define impacts of launching new products and services to all areas of the organization. Drive the implementation of programs and ensure all products are CMS compliant, in support of the marketing strategy, business plans, and forecasts for assigned product lines. Responsible for managing, analyzing and generating the necessary reports/data to evaluate the performance of each product line and business segments in terms of potential future enhancements, sales, profitability, promotional campaigns, etc. and using the data to execute marketing and sales plan to increase our penetration within the segments.

All departments and levels of management of BCBSLA: Legal, M&B, Benefit Admin, Actuarial, Medical Review, IT, Finance and Network Development
All areas of Marketing, Broker Advisory Council Members, Group and Individual Producers, Captive Producers and BCBSLA Group Leaders, Senior Management, Underwriting, Legal, Membership and Billing, Benefits Administration, Actuarial, Medical Review, IT, Finance and Network Development along with all Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans, Blue Cross Association, state and federal health care organizations, national research organizations, consulting firms and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Bachelor's in Marketing or related field is required
- Four years of related experience can be used in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- 3 years in marketing, project management or insurance experience is required
- 2 years in product management, implementation, analysis, training or marketing in the healthcare industry is required
- Experience can run concurrently
- Ability to utilize both internal and external data resources to develop business segment cases that identify sales trends, opportunities and necessary portfolio updates.
- Ability to manage, analyze and generate the necessary reports/data to evaluate the performance of products lines and business segments using the various database systems and applications.
- Excellent organizational, creative strategy and analytical abilities. Must have the ability to analyze and develop database information, identify trends and correlations, and develop strategies to benefit from the information gained.
- Requires research/technical skills and a high-level proficiency in database manipulation. MS Access and Excel skills is required
- Understanding of products through the product lifecycle and marketing sales tools to maximize the Company's financial results and market share. Understanding of sales forecast and budget of the product lines.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and project management skills required along with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills is required
- Strong public speaking skills, including the ability to comfortably present information in an effective, motivational, and enjoyable manner to sales and management staff.
- Life and Health Insurance license is preferred
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Handles product portfolio marketing with respect to product enhancements, healthcare reform regulations, compliance updates, state mandates and product retirement in an effort to keep the company compliant and competitive.
- Manages and facilitates the implementation of product modifications, new products, marketing tools, healthcare reform regulations, product marketing, and related issues to the product portfolio to deliver high-quality products and services and increase market penetration within the segments and also ensures all systems, forms, web-based tools (Access Blue), internal departments, marketing materials, effected existing membership base and our sales distribution have updated and accurate information.
- Responsible for on-going research and product marketing of all Healthcare reform regulations and have a full understanding of how they impact the product portfolio and implementations of product enhancements. new products, and business operations. Ensure all products and services are CMS compliant, including but not limited to CMS product filings on the Marketplace.
- Manages, analyzes and generates the necessary reports/data to evaluate the performance of each product line and business segment in terms of potential product enhancements, sales and profitability, pricing and product competitiveness and market demand using various database systems and applications and executes marketing and sales plan to increase our penetration within the segments.
- Develops business requirements training materials, marketing/sales tools and testing strategies including test scenarios and test cases of new products and services implemented to ensure quality assurance.
- Collaborates with other business area(s) to develop business processes related to developing a marketing project proposal, business cases, business requirements and identifying potential business solutions as needed related to identifying sales trends, opportunities and necessary portfolio updates.
- Develops and completes ad hoc reports or projects as needed in order to help meet goals.
