Marketing Manager, #602
Clearance: Must have the ability to obtain a clearance if required
We are seeking a Marketing Manager who desires the unique challenges of an emerging large business to join our dynamic and growing business. We are a highly skilled fast-paced Business Development team, and this role directly impacts our brand and in-person and digital media exposure This position is also vital to the success of many corporate operations with regular interactions and collaboration with Executives, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, DEI&A, and other organizations to promote internal communications and support external activities. In this role, you will have the ability to create and expand our corporate marketing capabilities and internal processes. This is a hybrid position with a requirement to be onsite at our Reston HQ for meetings and other events as requested.
Marketing Plan
- Develop and execute a strategic annual marketing plan with specific objectives aligned to corporate goals
- Lead the execution of marketing initiatives from start to finish, leveraging internal support and driving collaboration
- Provide insight and innovative marketing solutions to the organization to increase external brand awareness
- Develop and manage the marketing budget
Corporate Department Collaboration
- Lead the marketing efforts and collaborate across departments to complete projects
- Support other corporate departments in marketing and branding
- Manage annual summer marketing intern
- Present ideas and final deliverables to internal teams, and communicate with senior leaders about marketing programs, strategies, and budgets
- Collaborate across departments to identify needs and identify content for blogs, press releases, and social media
- Develop social media marketing calendar, create posts, and execute posts
- Create, maintain, and conduct analytics reporting across multiple platforms and extract key insights
- Identify and track relevant industry events and sponsorship opportunities and coordinate attendance and sponsorship options
- Lead attendance at industry and recruiting events by coordinating booth set-up, materials needed, and event logistics with the team
- Works directly with IT (Information Technology) Support team on efforts to improve internal communications through use of tools such as Teams and MS Vivo
Content Development
- Provide guidance and direction for website updates including reviewing and drafting content, selecting media, keeping content current, and making the updates
- Oversee, update, and maintain internal communication efforts including Dev Technology’s intranet (DevNet)
- Work in partnership with corporate departments, account leads, digital communication specialist, and graphic designers to develop website content, capability statements, brochures, etc.
- Responsible for creating business-related content, including blog posts, case studies, marketing collateral (product one-pagers), user community posts, and announcements.
- Manage and execute the development, distribution, and printing of Dev Technology’s quarterly newsletter
- Promote blog posts and marketing collateral via social media channels (including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter).
- Brainstorm content ideas for company content marketing efforts.
- Contribute to and adhere to the marketing publishing calendar (plan out content posts and due dates).
- Coordinate with corporate team members on upcoming conferences, events, relevant industry “holidays” like Cybersecurity Awareness month, etc. to create content and social media posts, share photos from events, etc.
- Join the conversation on hot industry topics and tie to current company service offerings (plan timely content and share on social media channels and the company website).
- Write and submit press releases (focused on wins/new work/new partnerships).
- Writeups and posts regarding company awards and participation in volunteer opportunities (like being named a top workplace, getting on a list of top tech companies, holding a fundraiser for a charity, participating in a volunteer event, etc.).
- Proofread and copy-edit marketing materials, including proposals and other collateral.
- Assist with podcast and video editing as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct experience leading marketing teams and implementing marketing strategies within GovCon
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience developing marketing plans and campaigns
- Strong project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with online marketing and social media strategy
- Experience with website updates (WordPress)
Preferred Qualifications
- Graphic design skills for social media, print media, videos, and website
- Photo, video, podcast, and audio editing
- Content development for capabilities statements and awards
- Experience with marketing automation and CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tools
- Established press and media contacts
- Experience with marketing in the Federal contracting industry
