Marketing Manager, Acetyls & Methanol
Job Description
Basic Function
The purpose of the job is to develop and execute the sales and marketing strategies for the Acetyls and Methanol business to maximize the overall value and return for the Company. In addition, the position will be responsible for the marketing plan and business optimization.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Contribute to and implement Acetyls and Methanol business strategy for the Americas.
- Develop market segment strategies that contribute to the business strategy.
- Help optimize customer / product portfolio for assigned segments to maximize profitability.
- Develop contractual pricing strategies and negotiate major contracts within the agreed LYB guidelines. Contract negotiations are conducted via sales for Acetyls and directly for Methanol (the Marketing Manager is the seller for Methanol).
- Review monthly demand forecast with Operations Planning to align supply / demand.
- Serve as the approval authority for price negotiations within the guidelines established by the Business Director.
- Evaluate competitor activities, produce price forecasting in line with marketing objectives in order to assist in preparation of business analysis and plans and disseminate market intelligence with the assistance of Business Finance.
- Provide the analytical support and specific operational targets to achieve the economical optimal operation across our business.
- Ensure profitability and viability of the business within company policy and objectives
- Facilitate close collaboration between Manufacturing, Sales, Operations Planning and Supply Chain and with global counterparts to achieve maximum sustained global profitability for the business.
Qualifications
- University degree required. MBA preferred.
- 10 + years' Sales and Trade, Technical, Marketing or Commercial, or related experience in chemical or refining/energy related industries.
- Relevant industry know-how to manage successful business strategies.
- Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
- Strong knowledge of market segments, products, applications and customers.
- Ability to communicate with and maintain business relationship with senior levels of customer management.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate, influence and direct many functions, such as Supply Chain, Sales, Operations Planning, Manufacturing, R&D, BDA, and Financial Controls
