Job Description

NCQA's Marketing Events Manager is a key member of the Marketing team and is responsible leading the development of marketing tools and events that directly align with NCQA's mission and vision and fulfill its strategic plan and business objectives.

The ideal candidate will manage a broad range of companywide conferences/tradeshows and corporate events. The Marketing Events Manager assists with the creation of and promotion of shows and events, digital content related to these events and the generation of marketing materials that support driving sales leads. The Marketing Events Manager works in an environment with tight deadlines. The ideal candidate needs to excel at project management (balancing multiple projects at once and managing detailed timelines), understand and align marketing with customers and must be able to work as an integral cross functional team member.

Responsibilities:

Event/Conference Marketing

  • Assist with overall marketing strategy planning and objective settingfor corporate and customer events.
  • Conceptualizes, manages and plans NCQA events, along with other core team members.
  • Define event metrics and performance targets and connect to business results.
  • Support and drive awareness of key special events. Develop the Marketing plan and all supporting materials for the event and execute all campaign initiatives.
  • Track effectiveness of campaigns and report out on results.
  • Responsible for the development and fulfillment of the events and marketing budgets
  • Manage on-site set up, production and take down for each event
  • Work closely with internal event planning committees, the Director of Events and other members of the NCQA team
  • Supervise and coordinate with event contractors, as necessary
  • Negotiate agreements with outside vendors, as necessary
  • Train and educate staff on proper event procedures
  • Plan, create and schedule fresh, engaging content for all digital channels including social, website and email marketing
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and new opportunities in Event Marketing
  • Ability to travel and attend events as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Marketing Operations

  • Serve as a collaborative member of the Marketing team, assisting with other marketing-related duties as assigned.
  • Develop and update NCQA marketing best practices.
  • Assist in managing outside vendors and agencies.
  • Effectively track and manage projects using project management software.
  • Other duties to help support the organization, as necessary.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree (or a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the necessary requirements of this position).

  • 7+ years marketing experience
  • Fast mover and thinker with high level of creativity
  • Self-starter who needs little direction or guidance
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including the ability to communicate well in a variety of settings with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of marketing and communications best practices.
  • Knowledge of content creation for digital media including web, social media and e-news
  • Ability to use independent judgment and make sound decisions
  • Ability to build and retain quality relationships
  • Ability to effectively coordinate with other organizations
  • Ability to appropriately represent NCQA as a public spokesperson.
  • Strong understanding of measuring marketing success and ROI.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Ability to execute to deadlines while under pressure.
