The Marketing Manager, Literacy Supplementals is a key player on a strong product marketing team. The Marketing Manager views themselves as critical to the success of the product, sales, and marketing teams, and is motivated by the opportunities Amplify's literacy programs have to positively impact the lives of millions of students.
The Marketing Manager role helps craft the voice of the product and contributes to the growth of a committed customer base by drafting the positioning, developing messaging, completing in-depth competitive analyses, enabling the sales team, and working with Growth Marketing to drive campaigns across channels (digital, print, events).
The ideal candidate makes data-based decisions, collaborates well, communicates and writes effectively, and prioritizes to meet the needs of exciting demands. This role reports to the Director, Literacy A&I and Supplementals Marketing and works cross-functionally with product, marketing, and sales colleagues to drive revenue for Amplify Reading (K-5) and Amplify Close Reading (6-8), Amplify's digital supplemental programs.
Responsibilities of the Marketing Manager, Literacy A&I:
  • Assist in developing Go-to-Market (GTM) plans for Amplify Reading. Working closely with the AVP, Director, and cross-functional colleagues, this role will play a key role in building and implementing comprehensive go-to-market plans for product launches and enhancements to help the sales team achieve revenue targets.
  • Act as the voice of the customer to inform product development and marketing strategy. This role will develop a deep understanding of customer purchasing behaviors for digital supplementals, market trends, and the competitive landscape, distilling the information for internal groups as needed and using it to inform product development roadmaps and marketing strategy.
  • Write and develop marketing collateral and sales resources. As part of the GTM plan, the marketing team supports the sales team in their efforts on the ground. This role will play a central role in the development of Amplify Reading materials to support the sales team. Examples include editing and writing one-pagers and long-form pieces (brochures, guides, FAQs), developing standardized pitch decks, distilling competitive research, creating product demos, and driving the development of other critical sales enablement tools.
  • Partner with Growth Marketing to plan and implement marketing campaigns. The role will collaborate with the Growth Marketing team to drive Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs) through acquisition channels, including playing a key role in setting campaign strategy and tactics, drafting creative content, and developing campaign copy (emails, landing pages, ads) for middle of funnel and bottom of funnel campaigns.
  • Play a key role in crafting the strategy for free trials and demo programs: A key priority is helping drive the development and execution of free trial and demo programs, to enable prospects to experience the programs prior to purchase, working with Customer Engagement to provide a streamlined experience that moves them from activation and usage to purchase.
  • Champion the product roadmap. The Marketing Manager will work cross-functionally with Product Managers to internalize, inform, and communicate the product roadmap, including supporting product launches and crafting internal and external tools to translate the value of new product features and new editions to the sales team and prospects.
  • Maintain literacy supplementals product pages on Amplify.com and internal Sales Hub. The marketing team is responsible for making sure that we have the latest and greatest messaging and materials available on the website and for the sales team to use. The role will be responsible for making sure that the website and sales portal are up to date and continuously optimized.

Basic Requirements of the Marketing Manager:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years' experience in educational publishing or tech marketing
  • Experience simultaneously prioritizing multiple projects successfully
  • Experience coordinating and communicating between multiple partners at varying levels of an organization
  • Outstanding writing skills, including attention to details of grammar, punctuation, phrasing, and structure

Preferred Qualifications of the Marketing Manager:
  • Prior success marketing elementary literacy products, preferably digital supplemental products
  • Experience marketing SaaS products to schools and districts
