Basic Function

The Marketing Manager for the polymers business is responsible for optimizing current and long-term profitability of their respective market segments as well as structuring and driving market and product optimization initiatives in close collaboration with operations planning, sales, planning & ADTS. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; market and pricing strategies (within the Marketing Excellence framework), customer contract negotiations, product line optimization and development project stewardship. The purpose of the job is to develop and implement market, product and pricing strategies which create market value, increase differentiation and capture the maximum potential from the polymer market segments.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and implement business strategy
  • Develop market segment strategies that contribute to business strategy driven by Marketing Excellence framework
  • Understand market segment performance vs. external benchmarks and identify actions to close gaps as appropriate
  • Direct cross functional asset teams
  • Establish and administer gap closure initiatives
  • Support customer account management and engage with OEM's and industry forums as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain appropriate analytical models to understand addressable markets and market trends
  • Works with ADTS/PAD and Sales in assessing product & application development opportunities
  • Work with Sales to develop sales contracts within the agreed guidelines and Commercial Authorities
  • Serve as the approval authority for monthly price negotiations within the guidelines established by the Business Director.
  • Active management of product portfolio together with asset management to ensure appropriate balance between fit-for-purpose / benchmark market positions, minimum asset complexity and appropriate value positioning

Qualifications

  • 4 year university degree - Business or Technical Degree preferred
  • MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in a Technical, Sales/Marketing, Finance, or Commercial role
  • Prior commercial experience required
