Marketing Manager - POLITICO Pro and E&E News
Job Description
As a Marketing Manager, you are responsible for developing and measuring marketing pipeline and hitting pipeline targets within two of POLITICO's B2B portfolios (POLITICO Pro and E&E News). We are looking for a revenue-oriented demand generation expert with experience in building and executing inbound and outbound marketing campaigns in B2B SaaS and a proven track record of success across these initiatives.
This role is both strategic and hands-on and will require partnering with new business Sales teams across POLITICO to set goals and objectives, establish campaign designs, and execute on marketing plans that drive the demand of products.
Reporting to the Senior Director of B2B Marketing, you will need expertise in demand generation strategies and techniques. You will develop a deep understanding of POLITICO's suite of B2B products, as well as both B2B and B2C marketing channels, working closely with Product Marketing, Sales, Marketing Operations, and Editorial teams. You should be inquisitive, analytical and exhibit customer-first instincts, and will be a thoughtful, collaborative partner across product, marketing, sales, corporate communications, and technology teams.
What You'll Do:
- Develop a broad understanding of our POLITICO Pro and E&E News solutions, the markets we play in, our value proposition and competition
- Align demand generation strategy and campaigns with our growth targets in partnership with the sales organization to predictably drive net-new revenue growth
- Work with sales leadership to align on ownership and KPIs across different stages of the funnel
- Develop inbound and outbound demand generation, lead engagement/nurture model to optimize conversion
- Develop and improve digital footprint (website, email content, blog posts, webinars, etc.) using available internal tools, and where needed additional internal/external creative resources
- Develop contextual and impactful (top, middle, and bottom of the funnel) content for different personas across the buyer's journey for use on a variety of digital platforms including email, blogs, social media, and websites
- Regularly measure, analyze, and report results for campaign performance to relevant stakeholders
- Obsessively leverage research and data to inform decision-making that assesses and improves marketing performance
- Serve as primary liaison with the new business Sales team, sharing campaign information and results with internal stakeholders at POLITICO
- Collaborate with other marketing team members on the development and delivery of externally facing content, technical program development, and sales enablement tools
What You'll Need:
- 3-6 years of experience in demand generation / new business acquisition marketing, at least half of which have been at a B2B or subscription-based products and services
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to develop and execute full lifecycle marketing plans that drive demand and engagement
- An independent, self-starter with strong prioritization skills that thrives in fast-paced, results-oriented and sales driven environments
- Organized and savvy across wide-ranging digital platforms, including Marketo and Salesforce, email, CMSs, social, and in-product
- An outstanding program manager with exceptional coordination skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects and initiatives
- A superior communicator written and oral (including presentations!)
- A genuine interest or understanding of policy and/or subscription-based businesses
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
