The Chronicle is seeking a Marketing Operations Analyst to join its Marketing team. This is a hybrid position requiring 1-2 days per week in our Washington DC office.
You will be responsible for maintaining a healthy Marketing database, ensuring overall data quality; developing reporting and providing recommendations for KPIs and baseline metrics, analyzing and interpreting marketing data to provide insights on the effectiveness of the organization's overall marketing objectives; and reviewing technology for improvements in data management and reporting. This may include predictive modeling and other methods of analysis to help the marketing organization decide on future marketing initiatives and areas of optimization. This role will also need to collaborate cross-organizationally to align on organization-wide data management, integration, compliance, and reporting strategy. Finally, this position will support the broader Marketing Operations team in day-to-day operational tasks.

What you'll do:
- Manage marketing data, by maintaining healthy marketing database, working to ensure data enrichment, cleansing and management processes to ensure overall quality
- Manage technical aspects of key marketing systems used to generate, distribute, and report on marketing data and program effectiveness
- Ensure the right tools and processes are in place for collecting marketing data and integrating with other systems within the organization
- Collaborate across business teams to ensure data alignment and optimization for Marketing
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize marketing technology systems and integrations (APIs) with other related technologies required to manage data and measure marketing program effectiveness
- Proactively explore data to find trends, discover KPIs, and apply proper hypothesis testing
- Provide reports and analysis/key insights for marketing activity to share with leadership and key stakeholders
- Ensure data privacy and compliance with the Chronicle's, as well as compliance with country and state laws are met pertaining to user data and permissions
- Stay updated on trends, industry best practices, technologies, and growth opportunities to ensure a best-in-class marketing and provide training as needed to key stakeholders
- Support Marketing Operations team in the day-to-day operations of marketing automation system, including, but not limited to troubleshooting technical problems, training, and support
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business analytics, data analytics, data management, computer science or equivalent field of study is preferred
- Python, SQL, JSON or other data language skill is preferred
- Experience with Marketing Automation systems such as Marketo, Eloqua, HubSpot or Acoustic preferred
- Passionate about data, analysis, processes, automation, and information systems
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to use data to back up assumptions and assess the success of marketing programs
- Understanding of data and analytics within the context of business requirements and needs
- Experience using Excel and PowerPoint (or similar tools) is required
