The Marketing Ops Associate sits at the intersection of marketing, product and engineering, ensuring all SonderMind marketing emails, including multiple audience-specific newsletters, lead nurture campaigns, winback campaigns, onboarding campaigns, and other behavior-based campaigns, are built strategically and align to business growths, and are deployed without concern.
You'll act as the Marketing Operations liaison for all marketing audience strategy leaders, reporting regularly on results, and working with our Marketing Analyst to tell a story of how our campaigns perform not only from an email perspective but from a product outcomes perspective.
Our ideal candidate is a go-getter with the drive to learn and embrace challenges head on, and is eager to grow within the CRM and Marketing Ops/Marketing Technology spaces at a fast-growing startup. Prior experience working in CRM Automation tools is a plus. You're comfortable in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and are ready to pivot. You know how to strategize, lead an idea through to requirements, and work with stakeholders to get your projects prioritized and launched. You are also comfortable working with data in order to tell a story.
What you'll do
  • Be an expert in operationalizing campaigns, including email layout, link tagging strategies, and overall email QA
  • Working cross functionally with audience strategists and internal marketing stakeholders, develop a strategic deployment calendar to align with company content calendars and initiatives.
  • Monitor email deliverability, ensuring a healthy sender reputation.
  • Continuously audit and assess ongoing programs for performance optimizations
  • Assist with the MarTech transition to full adoption of best-in-class CRM
  • Work cross functionally to maintain data syncs and APIs between systems (e.g. Marketo & Salesforce data sync)
  • Act as a CRM admin & team expert on data management and cleanliness, maintaining a healthy database of contacts and deduping/cleansing where necessary. Stay up to date on industry best practices, and share knowledge within the marketing org as well as cross-functionally
  • Actively build segmented lists and audiences based on behaviors and other available data points.
  • Launch/become the point person for new owned channels where possible
  • Take on other adhoc Marketing Ops projects as required by the team

What success looks like (how is success measured)
  • Within 1 month : complete a comprehensive audit of our CRM systems and processes, learning our project management/email development timelines, available data, and templates
  • Within 3 months : be the point of contact for all things email/SMS, and be the lead on all deployments to our client, provider, and partnership audiences.
  • Within 6 months : launch a net-new behavioral campaign in conjunction with audience owners.

Required Qualifications
  • 1-3 Years of Marketing Automation experience
  • 2-5 Years Marketing Comms experience
  • 1-3 years project management experience
  • Understanding ( or a strong desire to learn ) of lifecycle and retention marketing, as well as acquisition tactics
  • Experience working with/executing against user journeys
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to present
  • Driven by a test-and-learn agenda. You love testing subject lines, dayparting, and email content
  • Comfort with telling stories with data

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in startups or in the healthcare space
  • Marketing, Communications, or degree or related experience
  • Understanding or prior experience in chat bots or pop-up module experiences
  • Prior experience working cross-functionally with internal/external stakeholders or teams
  • An eye for effective copy, and a drive to test potential optimizations.
  • Prior experience with project management tools like Smartsheet, JIRA or Monday.
  • Experience in multi-channel campaigns
  • HTML understanding/experience

Salary & Benefits
The salary rate for this position is $60,000-69,000 per year. Actual compensation and title is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive program.
