Description

The marketing program manager is responsible for helping to determine division marketing strategy, and for the management of all aspects of multi-faceted marketing projects and campaigns for the public safety division. Responsibilities include turning business objectives into marketing strategy and tactics by conducting research, developing comprehensive content, and analyzing metrics. This role works extensively with the content marketing manager to ensure full cohesion and integration between programs to effectively meet division and corporate goals. Collaboration with various marketing shared service functions as well sales and other division leadership is also important to the marketing program manager's success.

The marketing program manager will have a significant impact on the sales and marketing success of the division by managing the marketing projects and campaigns delivered by the marketing department. Prospects, existing clients, investors, partners, sales personnel and so forth all benefit from these projects, primarily because the information will be made available in a proactive, industry-appropriate, creative and timely manner. Professionally executed marketing projects raise the profile of the company by projecting a positive and polished corporate and product image.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of multi-faceted marketing projects and campaigns including programmatic advertising, direct mail, web programs, collateral development, and event promotion and coordination.
  • Execute against division marketing plan and strategic tactics as outlined by executive leadership, the vertical marketing director.
  • Develop content for various marketing pieces related to outbound programs including emails, advertising, landing pages, articles, flyers, and other material as requested.
  • Obtain product or service information by interviewing or requesting such information from necessary parties including internal division subject matter experts, or clients.
  • Develop innovative ways to communicate marketing messages - including via direct mail, email, web, video, tradeshows, and events.
  • Understand content marketing and its role in driving outbound initiatives.
  • Collaborates closely with corporate marketing shared services departments such as creative services, interactive communication, and marketing automation to manage the production and execution of marketing projects and campaigns.
  • Analyze metrics and results from marketing programs and provide ROI reports to the vertical marketing director.
  • Design, develop, and execute programmatic advertising campaigns with third-party vendors and directors such as persona targeting, behavioral targeting, and site retargeting.
  • Maintains brand standards in all aspects of marketing projects.
  • Ensure marketing messaging is consistent and drives the key messages in an impactful way.
  • Oversee marketing staff as applicable.
  • Aid in the continuing development of staff members and provide ongoing guidance, training, and direction in achieving the team and company objectives.
  • Evaluate the marketing needs of each product group and the division overall, and develop new campaigns and materials as required to meet division priorities.
  • Manage competing priorities in order to deliver programs that align with division objectives
  • Effectively manage multiple concurrent marketing programs and campaigns across multiple product lines.
  • Market distinct product lines across distinct audiences in our target markets; align with other Tyler divisions to ensure message consistency when product lines cross the same audiences.
  • Understand and convey division messages and objectives in all sales and marketing collateral.
  • Understand customer needs and be able to incorporate a client perspective into communications.
  • Effectively work with subject matter experts across the division's various departments. Research, organize, and express information in a well-written format.
  • Establish priorities and meet deadlines, in conjunction with those set forth by the vertical marketing director.
  • Handle multiple tasks while paying close attention to details.
  • Stay abreast of industry and marketing best practices, trends, ideas, tools, and technology.
  • Effectively lead others to accomplish goals/objectives and coach, mentor, and develop team members.
  • Effectively work with third-party advertising vendors.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or comparable work experience
  • 8-10 years of marketing experience in a B2B or B2G environment
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to generate impactful marketing messages is required, demonstrated through writing samples and references
  • Technology/software industry experience required; public sector experience preferred
  • Experience effectively managing a variety of marketing projects and timelines
  • Experience managing a variety of direct marketing, video, advertising, collateral creation, and web content projects required; programmatic advertising including persona targeting, behavioral targeting, and site retargeting preferred.
  • Tradeshow and or User Conference experience preferred
  • Macintosh or PC skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience in a leadership or management role a plus
  • An excellent understanding of graphic applications, image/media files, web media/interactive marketing, etc.
  • A positive attitude with a desire to go above and beyond expectations is key to the success of this role
