A Brief Summary of This Position:

Valmont is looking for a Marketing & Sales Enablement Intern to support the Lighting & Transportation business segment. The intern will focus on delivering high-quality marketing deliverables in the pursuit of strengthening the Valmont Structures brand, increasing awareness, and generating demand. The intern will also assist with other marketing projects as needed. This position is perfect for someone who is looking to work in a fast-paced environment and wanting to learn more about the marketing industry. The candidate will not only learn about what it takes to make a marketing program successful, but also will have the opportunity to see it from start to finish. The role requires a diverse skill set, and the intern will have the opportunity to gain experience in several areas, including marketing project management, marketing asset management, MARTECH, vendor management, event management and sales enablement administration.

Essential Functions:

  • This position reports to the Marketing Director - Lighting & Transportation.
  • Travel is not required in this position.
  • Available to report 15-20 hours per week with opportunity to work full-time (up to 40 hours) over the summer.
  • Effectively manages marketing projects and aligns priorities to key business initiatives.
  • Work with stakeholders to deliver required collateral and sales enablement assets to train, inform, and generate leads to achieve revenue targets.
  • Update and manages marketing communications materials such as brochures and literature.
  • Take direction and work independently on multiple assigned projects.
  • Clearly and consistently communicate between internal teams.
  • Develop, monitor, and enforce project timelines, revising as needed to ensure key milestones are met.
  • Monitor and report on projects to key stakeholders, keeping all informed of the status and aware of changes in a timely manner.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

  • Junior or Senior pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Journalism, Digital Marketing, Business Administration or Communications.
  • Previous experience or coursework in one or more of the following areas: project management, graphic design, marketing campaigns, advertising, or digital marketing.
  • Proven project management abilities, including prioritizing work to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the capacity to overcome complex challenges.
  • Creative mindset and ability to make take concepts and vision into executable action items.
  • Ability to learn graphic design methods, techniques, software and equipment.
  • Ability to execute basic administrative and reporting tasks.
  • Ability to dedicate between 24 - 40 hours per week for on-site projects in either Omaha or Valley, NE.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook).
  • Strong time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications:

  • Experience working in project management platforms.
  • Experience working in CRM platforms (Salesforce, Pardot, etc.)
  • Prior experience using creative software including Adobe Audition, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, and Camtasia Studio

Working Environment and Physical Efforts:

Work is typically performed in an office setting. The incumbent is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, as well as talk and listen on the phone and in personal conversations or meetings. The environment is fast-paced and demanding most of the time. No travel requirements for this position. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while working in the office with various files and forms and while working on the computer. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office. Incumbent must utilize proper ergonomic safeguards such as monitor height and positions, keyboard location and height and proper wrists rests. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds in working with large files, binders, and computer equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
