The Chronicle is seeking a Marketing Specialist to join its Content Revenue team. This is a hybrid role requiring 1-2 days in our Washington DC office.

Salary Range: $50,000.00 To $59,500.00 Annually

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for supporting audience growth and engagement while generating revenue for a full suite of content products. Primary responsibilities include developing and executing integrated multi-effort marketing and awareness campaigns to grow circulation, managing products across various platforms, and overseeing the reporting and analysis of on and offline marketing programs. This role supports the creation, promotion, and maintenance of Chronicle products, including but not limited to subscriptions, store items, and events, as well as subscriber benefits and lead generating opportunities.

What you'll do:

  • Work within a marketing team while coordinating across departments to develop and execute innovative integrated marketing campaigns that reach targeted audiences through direct mail, email, social and online channels.
  • Strategize marketing campaigns with other members of the content revenue team for store products, lead-generating programs, and subscriptions to boost sales and grow engagement across the site, with social media, and in newsletters.
  • Design emails, landing pages, articles, etc. for marketing campaigns including Chronicle Intelligence, Chronicle Studio, sponsored content, etc., working with the creative services team on campaign asset creation and the advertising operations team with newsletter, print and website banner placements and updates.
  • Discuss campaign underperformance with Director, Marketing & Client Services and implement recommended changes to campaigns, such as more money allocation to drivers, driver content updates, or other resolutions.
  • Produce monthly metric reports to analyze campaign performance against client goals with respect to impressions and/or page views, utilizing software such as Google Ad Manager, Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads Manager, Adobe Analytics, Tableau, Iterable, etc., to optimize a client's sponsored content.
  • Boost webinar registrations and revenue by marketing through email, social media, newsletters, house ads, and site promotions, coordinating with the editorial team and Workcast to prepare the auditoriums for live events, and providing customer service support.
  • Organize and manage the setup and fulfillment of virtual workshop programs, including scheduling attendees and virtually producing seminar presentations.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, business or communication, and at least three years of relevant experience to include client-facing and office experience.
  • Strong organizational, time management, customer service and data analysis skills.
  • Experience with Marketo and Shopify preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Proficiency with digital marketing tools and analytics platforms.
