Master Custom Order Designer

Eaton's PDCA (Power Distribution and Controls Assembly) Division is seeking a Master Custom Order Designer to join our team. This is a position is based at our Fayetteville, NC facility. Relocation assistance will be offered for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of Fayetteville, NC.

Position Overview:

The primary function of the Custom Order Designer is to provide mechanical design and documentation support for the Low Voltage Motor Control Center product line. This includes, but is not limited to: engineering designs, collaborating with application engineers and manufacturing associates, utilization of design automation software, and producing/maintaining manufacturing documentation.

This position will focus on all aspects of MCC order design requirements, including limited application engineering requirements, with some possibility to interface directly with Eaton sales force and customers.

In this function you will:

• Work to standard procedures or written and oral instructions from supervisor.
• Strong Mechanical aptitude as well as familiarity in reading schematic diagrams to determine mechanical design requirements and associated layouts.
• Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
• Demonstrate advanced computer skills with ability to learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS).
• Interpret engineering work packages to develop mechanical design and manufacturing information packages.
• Address and resolve issues that surface with little to no supervision
• Coordinate with different levels of the organization to ensure schedules are met.
• Detailed Bill of Material reviews for editing and accuracy.
• Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects/assignments/duties

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Requires a high school diploma / GED with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an associate's degree or higher in a related engineering/technology major with at least 2 years relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline. Relevant experience is defined as the use of computer-aided design software to create engineered drawings and/or experience and knowledge of the design and manufacturing of motor control centers and/or package control assemblies.
• Relocation will be provided for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of the location listed in the job description
• Able to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred qualifications:

• Proficient in AutoCAD and other engineering and design software programs.
