**This is a REMOTE position**

The position of Master Data Manager will be part of the Enterprise Integration team and will focus on the execution of the MDM strategy and enhancing business value derived from master data through strong data governance and stewardship. The position will proactively champion the value of consistent and useful information as a strategic business asset by providing the organization guidance and oversight for establishing and maintaining principles, standards, procedures, and accountability for information (data) stewardship across the organization.

The position will be part of the core IT MDM team responsible for the current state assessment of master data and the creation of future state master data constructs; to modernize, simplify and improve the quality/integrity of Adient data. The Manager, MDM Architecture & Governance will manage all aspects of the execution of projects and services in the Master Data Management area. This includes oversight of the alignment of timelines, process mapping, solution design and construction, testing, training, implementation, stabilization, and project closing for all initiatives within the function's portfolio. This role is also responsible for maintaining process integrity and standardization.

This position requires an experienced leader who can partner effectively with all levels of the organization, influence others, drive results, proactively identify and resolve problems, and make challenging decisions. It also requires proficient knowledge in master data objects and portfolio management to be utilized to work closely with partners, including but not limited to business unit and business function customers, representatives, and third-party providers.

Scope of activities:

  • Drive MDM and Data Governance adoption across Adient
  • Assist with establishing a strategic vision, implementation roadmap and communication plan for Master Data Governance that is aligned with Adient's overall strategic vision
  • Assist in the design and deployment of a master data governance framework, with a focus on improving data quality and the protection of sensitive data
  • Responsible for understanding the interrelationships and impacts associated with the application of master data across end-to-end business processes
  • Evaluate and drive data management processes (i.e. define best practices and processes to support efficiencies within master data management)
  • In collaboration with subject matter experts and data stewards, lead the implementation of data policies, controls, and programs to ensure the enterprise data is accurate, complete, secure and reliable
  • Facilitate data management process implementation/gap analysis
  • Facilitate data quality gap/feasibility assessments
  • Build and maintain data governance library including the development of data catalogs/dictionaries
  • Lead a virtual team focused on developing a strategy to deploy master data know-how throughout the broader enterprise
  • Lead a portfolio of application development and maintenance projects directly and in a matrix environment through a project management capacity
  • Assist in evaluation of appropriate tools & technology to support the chosen MDM strategy
  • Collaborate with various technical teams and business users for development, QA and production support for the selected MDM tools
  • Implement an ITIL approach to Service Delivery Management; manage to SLA and KPIs
  • Analyze, evaluate, and solve problems; turn analysis into standard processes to eliminate future issues
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement through measurement and optimization consistently evaluate current practices and recommend improvements to managing master data, maintaining integrity and decreasing cycle times
  • Responsible for interacting with and influencing key global stakeholders to educate, build consensus, make decisions, and execute plans and programs that utilize and support master data standards
  • Engage with customers and other stakeholder groups, as necessary, to foster productive relationships and move forward through the change journey at the appropriate pace to ensure successful execution of the plan
  • Oversee the delivery of training and support to end users and assist in providing change management to the organization
  • Ensure alignment between the EA application roadmap and Adient's master data strategy

Credentials and Experience

  • API Management and API Development experience is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or related discipline; Master's Degree in related discipline preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in IT, Finance and business / industry work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Project Management / Agile delivery
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a business or technical user of a large ERP experience in manufacturing or similar industry preferred.
  • 3+ years direct experience in MDM analysis, design, development, support and operations with a leading MDM tool suite preferred
  • Awareness of MDM trends, MDM concepts and tools in the market. In depth knowledge of master data governance and management principles and concepts preferred.
  • Experience with managing data governance frameworks and establishing methodologies preferred
  • Demonstrated functional understanding of key business processes such as Purchasing, SCM, Finance, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and the interrelationships, impacts and usage of master data within the suite of applications. Experience with automotive a plus
  • Data expertise related to the Vendor, Customer, Material, BOM, Routing, Production, Finance, etc. data domains, as well as end-to-end interrelationships preferred
  • Experience defining and implementing master data governance delivery strategies for large and complex organizations (interfacing with global teams) preferred
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, data quality management and data governance principles

  • Proven project management experience; project leadership, planning, execution, control and business results
