Role Summary
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the flow of inventory from raw/purchased state through the production process to Customer shipments
  • The Materials Manager will take ownership for all aspects of material management including fulfillment, transactional quality, inventory accuracy, and productivity
  • The Manager will also be involved in long-term planning with focus on overall strategy and accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives.
  • Oversee all aspect of Production Scheduling, Inventory Control, Shipping and receiving
  • Maintain high standards of quality, consistency and integrity in all transactions
  • Manage all aspects of manufacturing inventory, implementing necessary upgrades, and a responsibility to evaluate annual budgets
  • Responsible for inventory, operational targets including the month end and quarter close processes for inventories at multiple sites
  • Manage direct reports, including scheduling, assessments and promotional development
  • Meet customer schedules effectively through advanced planning and create ability to expedite shipments as required to meet customer deadlines
  • Develop reliable relationships with the customers and their employees
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity and ethics in all dealings with internal customers and outside suppliers
  • Work with customers externally to identify new opportunities to improve our current processes
  • Co-ordinate the efficient utilization of the manufacturing computer system (Trans4M) and improve the accuracy of the information
  • Develop and implement cost savings ideas

Key Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or high school diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, materials management or operations position)
  • A CPP or APICS designation would be an asset
  • Experience of working in manufacturing facility
  • Courses in Inventory mgmt
  • Trans4M experience preferred
  • Familiar with MRP
  • 4-6 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing / production environment
  • Must have purchasing and material management experience
