MBA Product Manager, Intern

Partnering with our business verticals and functions, the Strategy and Ventures team is assisting with their near- and longer-term growth strategies, as well as shaping our 2025 corporate strategy. We are also progressing ResMed's corporate development agenda, focusing on growth through mergers and acquisitions (M&A), partnerships and new business creation.

MBA Product Manager Intern

Let's talk about the team and you:

This position will contribute to ResMed's in-house venture studio, the Primery. The Primery is composed of a small, high performing team that generates and validates new business concepts prior to full launch. The effort requires this team to discovery a large market opportunity and then demonstrate product/market fit and a scalable business model via lean start-up methodologies (minimum viable products, lean experiments, pivots as necessary). The end goal is to launch a new, high-growth business for ResMed.

As part of this high performing team, the intern will contribute to the following activities:

• Help in defining Areas of Exploration for new businesses for ResMed, which will also serve as idea generation targets for VentureThon
• Conduct secondary research on various markets, competitors, or technologies
• Conduct primary research through interviews with external stakeholders (customers, patients, providers, payers)
• Build executive level presentations and present recommendations pertaining to the design and execution of VentureThon
• Model financial impact of proposed business models (unit economics, life time value, customer acquisition cost, cost structure, etc.)
• List and summarize all business model options for future start-ups (i.e. reimbursement options, government programs, direct to consumer, etc.)

Direction will be given by our Senior Manager of New Business creation as well as our Entrepreneur-in-Residence for the duration of the internship, experienced intra-preneurs with a talent for coaching and development.

• Open to MBAs or undergraduates with prior business experience
• Desire to join a high-performing, fast-paced team
• Comfort with ambiguity
• Strong business and financial acumen
• Familiarity in creating and interpreting business and financial models
• Aptitude for Strategy & Analytics
• Critical thinking and rationalization skills
• Strong communication and presentation skills

Desirable:

• Digital Healthcare related experience
• Primary or Secondary research experience
• Basic familiarity with design thinking and lean start-up principles
• Creative, able to bring new ideas on how to achieve common team goals in a lean way

• Experience interviewing people in a variety of contexts to better understand their needs
• Able to discuss both business and technology concepts with experts and learn quickly from the experience

• Executive presentation experience
