Your role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Engineer with MBSE experience for NASA JSC's Artemis VIPER (Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover) project. Assist NASA with the search for water ice on the moon's south pole. This position will help develop a digital twin for the VIPER power and data systems.

What you'll do all day:

  • Implement a modeling approach to VIPER power and data systems (similar to an existing approach used for Orion) to create a digital twin.
  • Work in a team environment, and report to project lead or project manager for technical support, task assignment, and processes.
  • Prepare reports as required.
  • Interact with other NASA and JETS teams and departments.
  • Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions.

Minimum requirements for this position:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering in the field or in a related area.
  • Must have hands-on experience with MBSE tools including Cameo/Magic Draw.
  • Must have prior MBSE modeling experience.
  • Self-motivated, team player and adaptability to a dynamic environment and the ability to complete all assignments as required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and will be expected to effectively interact with customers and management at all levels.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and to verbally present at various meetings.
  • Ability to visualize and work with complex mechanical/electrical systems and work with others in problem solving as part of a team.
  • Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and schedules with limited supervision.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency with team collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or WebEx.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants.
Desired skills and experience for this position:

  • Interest in human spaceflight.
  • Familiarity with SysML.
  • NASA experience a plus.
