MCPTT Core Platform- Ref #519

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to support Mission Critical Push to Talk (MCPTT) project activities in network virtualization environment such as software verification test, MOP validation, scripting, troubleshooting activities, and other technical customer supports.

Candidate must be able to work in VMWare and ONAP environment and be able to understand MCPTT network elements and support software deployment, proactive monitoring automation, and other technical issues in the lab and production environment.

Role and Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include:

• System level feature integration and testing: Validating MCPTT application for its end to end compliance to functional requirements from customer
• Developing and performing test plans: Developing test object and test procedures in order to verify new feature or software defect fix
• Troubleshooting and analyzing problems in customer's lab and production systems: Actively driving troubleshooting session with customer and following up with Samsung development team in timely manner
• Managing and enhancing daily statistics scripts and automation tools: Developing or enhancing proactive monitoring scripts and managing automation infrastructure in SEA lab
• Customer lab support : Supporting pre-GA activities and preparing lab entry criteria including MCPTT VNF deployment, OSS test, Billing test, Redundancy testing, Performance testing, MOP validation, TOL (Test Object List) review with customer, and ad-hoc support requests from the customer (AT&T)

Skills and Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Up to 1 year of telecommunication industry experience. Internship experience a plus.

Background/Experience

To qualify for this position, the following minimal background and skill levels are required:

• Up to 1 year of experience in system test and technical customer support
• Good understanding of telecommunications concepts
• Able to understand feature requirement/design document and create test procedure
• Must have experience in automation
• Experience with network virtualization is plus

Necessary Skills/Attributes

The following skills and abilities must be demonstrated at a proficient level:

• In depth IP knowledge and routing protocol, IPv6, TCP/IP, UDP, ECMP, SCTP, VLAN
• Good understanding of Linux OS
• Exposure to programming in Python, Ansible, and Linux shell scripting
• Wireshark and other IP protocol analyzer
• Virtualization Platform such as VMWare and openstack

Technical Acumen

Subject Matter Expert in driving the technical solutions to the customer. The ability to write, read, interpret, explain and act based on a thorough understanding of technical documents, engineering materials and contracts or related documents.

Presentations Skills

Leveraging your ability to communicate effectively with all levels of organization as well as HQ partners on initiatives.

Adept at Dealing with Ambiguity

Bringing your experience in problem solving and ability to navigate complex organizations with pivotal shifts

Customer Excellence: Ability to support a cross-functional Samsung team to achieve customer contracted objectives and specific team goals within established time frames and requirements.
