Job Title
MDA Simulation Analyst
Location
Alabama - Huntsville - Huntsville, AL 35802 US (Primary)
Job Description
Torch Technologies is currently seeking a mid- to senior-level Core Truth Model Analyst to support our MDA/SEU Systems Verification team, who has been designated the MDA modeling and simulation accreditation agent. An important factor in assessing the Missile Defense System (MDS) is the incorporation of real-world environmental effects in Hardware-in-the-Loop [HWIL] and all digital simulation testing. The candidate will support the verification and validation (V&V) of Core Truth Model (CTM) libraries and evaluate models that represent a wide variety of environmental states / effects (e.g., atmospheric profiles, gravity, radiofrequency effects [lens loss, clear air absorption, refraction, scintillation]). Areas of particular interest are states and effects occurring near the Earth's surface that are associated with low-flying cruise missiles. For example, "ducting", "terrain", and "ground clutter" can affect a radar's ability to detect / track these threats with sufficient time to respond.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience and 8-10 years related experience.
- A strong analysis background and ability to lead/work with small teams dedicated to the verification and validation (V&V) of assigned environment models
- Experience with radiofrequency (RF) atmospheric perturbations is desired
- A background in atmospheric sciences is a plus
- Ability to script with Python or MATALB is desired since the team builds specialized CTM analysis tools to perform its analysis and assessments
- Knowledge of the Linux operating system is a definite asset since the CTM libraries are written / executed in this development framework
- Able to work in an open, collaborative environment and have good written / spoken communication skill
- Willingness to research technical papers and identify relevant measurement data to become the de-facto V&V expert for an assigned environment model, coming up to speed quickly on the physical theory and mathematical equations that constitute the representation
- A SECRET clearance is required
