Role Description

Deutsche Bank is looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Engineer to work within our Mass Data Integration (MDI) team within Private Banking Shared Applications. The primary area of delivery of our department is handling ETL and related services for all areas within Private Banking. These services are across a wide variety of technologies, mainframe, midrange, and cloud. Our SAP BW environment is primarily used within this context to extract data from multiple SAP Banking modules / systems and prepare and deliver this data to downstream systems. In addition, we support reconciliation processes and some operational reporting. MDI is involved in a wide variety of engaging projects and programs including the cloud transformation in private banking. As an early member of the newly forming offshore delivery unit within MDI a wide range of technical and organizational challenges awaits you. The ideal candidate will possess a range of SAP BW skills including strong ABAP OO development capabilities and have a very good understanding of end-to-end processing within SAP BW. Candidate should be a self-motivated team player, possess ingenuity to excel at this position and flourish in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

Your key responsibilities

• You will actively support the Application / Product Owner as delegate with the management and delivery of the delivery backlog
• Support the Application / Product Owner with relationship management with the SAP Center of Competence and the SAP Infrastructure Team. Further, support vendor management and governance.
• Full life cycle delivery of SAP BW solutions including design, build, testing and maintaining
• Clarification of requirements with requesting projects
• Deliver effort estimations as needed
• Performance tuning of developments
• Responsibility for oversight of development standards including housekeeping requirements
• Work closely with service operations forming a virtual Dev-Ops team to support an environment of continuous improvement and pro-active error avoidance in the overall platform.
• Proactively suggest optimization potential in our processes and organization and upon agreement move these forward independently or within the team. 
• Based on individual desire, capabilities, and development goals, additional areas of responsibility and special tasks are regularly available.

Your skills and experience

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Experience with external job scheduling design for SAP BW, preferably with Automic
• Prior experience connecting with Informatica Power center is advantageous
• SAP Banking (BP, AM/DM, CML, BA) experience either direct or in context of SAP BW preferred
• Experience with file transfer protocols and system connectivity both midrange and mainframe
• Agile experience or related training
• Understanding ITIL processes in a DevOps context desirable
• German language (written or spoken) is a plus

Basic Qualifications:

• 7 years overall experience with at least some relevant experience in IT or Banking
• Experience in SAP ABAP development or related area or completion of a related degree or qualification
• ABAP developer with BW knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle or other rational databases including fundamental SQL
• Very experienced with SAP Connectors, standard and bespoke, and Open Hub
• Additionally, very experienced in Standard Extractors to connect to other SAP modules
• Strong SAP ABAP development skills, including OO development
• Experience with BW related design
• Experience with large volume batch processing and performance optimization
• Prior knowledge of connecting SAP BW to Informatica is highly desirable
• Experience in automation of deployments and tests
• Understanding of architecture patterns, typical integration patterns, code conventions or other best practices
• Good communication and experience in working with distributed teams (especially Germany + India)
• Fluent English is required
