Job SummaryThe Southeast Regional Energy Services and Measurement and Verification Team is chartered, in concert with the Regional / Local sales offices, to drive the growth of Trane Commercial's Comprehensive Solutions business, consisting of large turnkey contracts, performance contracts, and build-own-operate-maintain contracts. The Measurement and Verification (M&V) Engineer is a member of the Regional Energy Services and Measurement and Verification team and is responsible for validating energy savings and providing ongoing measurement and verification supoort of projects with energy savings guarantees within the Southeast Region. The M&V Engineer participates in all phases of the project and actively searches for opportunities to help customers optimize their energy savings and energy management.
Note: This position has been designated as Remote within the Southeast Geography, which include the following locations: Middle TN, West TN, North GA, North AL, and North MS.

Base Pay Range: $69,500 - $120,000 / year. Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.

Responsibilities:
- Analyze facility utility consumption and demand patterns to establish a utility baseline.
- Assist project development teams in creating M&V protocols for new projects.
- Assess and communicate project risk to leadership/local regional sales offices.
- Conduct on-site measurements and short-term data collection during construction and post retrofit periods as required.
- Conduct on-site, and remote, BAS setpoint inspections, as well as direct assistance through local BAS techs and Trane Intelligent Services Engineers,
- Coordinate activities of technicians and subcontractors for fulfillment of measurement and verification plans.
- Participate in transition meetings with operations team to ensure project scope, objectives, timeline, and customer requirements have been achieved and the start of the performance period is properly documented.
- Coordinate with construction project manager to assess the impact on guaranteed savings of any changes to the contract scope of work.
- Develop and present annual reconciliation reports and be able to analyze data output related to the utility bills, BAS trend data, and energy consumption to limit risk in order to achieve high level of customer satisfaction.
- Ensure on time delivery of annual reconciliation reports in order to meet contractual obligations.
- Identify potential new opportunities to regional sales teams.
- Help M&V Customers with Energy Management, and act as the Customers Point of Contact for our M&V Program
- Provide training to district office personnel to support measurement and verification requirements.
- Responsible for completing assigned tasks on time and within budget.
- Able to travel to customer sites / regional sales offices up to 15% (may be higher at times).
- Home or regional office flexibility.
- Valid drivers' license issued by state of residence and in good standing.
- Location preference but not limited to: Middle TN, West TN, North GA, North AL, North MS
- Investigate short term energy shortfalls, determine causes, and provide corrective measures and/or investigate the need for Baseline Adjustments
- Work with Regional Energy Engineering team as a source of info in calculating Baseline Adjustments
- Help to enroll, and help customers navigate Utility Bill Management Platforms and Software - i.e. ProKarma, Datapoint, EnergyCap, etc
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and at least 5 years work experience in Measurement & Verification of system performance required; OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience required.
- Experience with data logging equipment.
- Experience with HVAC, building automation controls, electrical, and domestic water systems.
- Experience with Metrix® utility accounting software preferred, but not required.
- CMVP® or equivalent certification preferred.
- Proficiency with the concepts and principles of International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interface professionally with customers at all levels.
- Requires a responsible, self-starter individual who can handle multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision.
