Mechanical Engineer

What We’re Looking For

We're looking for the Mechanical Engineer who are vital in designing and developing physical infrastructure for automated systems and manufacturing operations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Using SolidWorks developing mechanical structures of robotic work cells, parts, and manufacturing jigs;
• Create digital mock-ups of  assemblies of the developed parts to identify interferences and areas of improvement 
• Developing 2D drawings, specs, .STL, .DWG and other required files for the parts to be manufactured
• Prototyping of the developed cells, assemblies, structures and parts 
• Look for, onboard and engage with metal, wood, CNC, and 3D printing or additive manufacturing shops to place an order and manufacture parts
• Assemble the developed parts to validate the designs or improve them for DFMEA and PFMEA studies

What’s Required

• 5+ years of experience in Mechanical and/or Manufacturing engineering
• Mechanical engineering, novel mechanisms, and first of it’s kind accompanying systems are something you’re excited about (please be prepared to demonstrate this  during the interview process!)
• Extensive experience with CAD, including Solidworks, Fusion360, Inventor, etc.
• Creating and maintaining production files (2D, Assembly drawings and instructions)
• Jigs, fixtures, tools, and other accessories designed, built, and tested.
• Extensive material knowledge , such as metals, plastics, other novel materials etc.
• Working knowledge and experience with manufacturing technologies such as machining, sheet-metal bending, welding, 3D printing and/or additive manufacturing, injection molding, and other
• Mechanical calculations and analysis (FEA, loads, stresses, static, dynamic, tolerance analysis)
• Be creative, ready to be hands-on, with a strong desire to not only design but build the systems as designed
• Capable of analyzing, debugging, and solving complex problems
• LEAN manufacturing principles to apply to the designs
• Well organized, pay attention to details, and methodical in your approach to design and engineering
• Being a collaborative team player comes naturally for you
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in English

What’s Nice-to-Have

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics
• Industrial automation (Gantry systems, conveyance, material handling, painting and coating, foam and fill applications etc), PLC, and robots programming
• CAM systems
• Be familiar with or previously used Extreme Manufacturing, Contract-First Development, or other agile hardware development frameworks
• Be familiar with Industry 4.0 concept
• OSHA10-30 training is beneficial
